Anyone here launched a brand subreddit from scratch? how bad was it really?

hey guys

quick question for those who actually tried building a brand subreddit from zero. not talking about blasting links and disappearing - I mean setting up an official sub and trying to grow it properly.

how painful was it?

did you register it from a fresh account or use an aged one with history?

did Reddit instantly flag stuff because it “looked promotional”? any shadowbans / silent post removals early on?

feels like Reddit is way more sensitive now, especially if there’s even a hint of marketing.

also curious how you handled the balance — being present as a brand without turning the sub into obvious self-promo

I know Reddit hates corporate vibes, but plenty of brands survive there somehow.

would love to hear real war stories. what worked, what got you smacked by filters, what you’d do differently today

created over 300+ subreddits and all of them are going strong, building a subreddit takes time, do not rush things

do you also take on client work and register brand communities from scratch, or are you mostly building and managing your own projects?
