I often see those native ads on news websites. Does anyone here do native ads? I think the traffic cost is high so how do you get your ad campaigns profitable? How to get campaigns approved on top ad networks like Taboola and Outbrain? Do you cloak or only promote whitehat offers?

I've done it and I confirm that it can be "very" profitable if you do it the right way. Almost all attractive banner articles you see online are native ads. Taboola and Outbrain are the top ones in the industry and can be very rewarding but it's super hard to get your ads approved in these networks. The traffic cost is high as you've mentioned but you can cover it with a good CR you get as well we promoting more recurring products/services.

I advise you to start small, and don't over spend by using geo-targetting and day-limit budget options. So be careful about over spending. You also need to avoid misleading claims, especially if it's for high-demand niches like finance or romance.
I don't recommend to go with cloaking links because native ad networks (especially Taboola and Outbrain) are very smart to detect these kind of behavior and will ban you quickly, so always aim for whitehat methods. Cloaking also will ruin reputation of your ad account.

Does anyone know if it's preferable to go for SOI or DOI on native ads, or should focus on CPS offers instead?
