Anyone here do media buys (banner ads, etc)? What has been your experience with them?
I have got one at the moment on a very targetted site that receives a high amount of traffic and it has picked me up over 600 people to my mailing list in the past 2 days. It's a 468x60 banner @ $50/month right below a login area.
For me it's been hit or miss, but one campaign specifically did well for me, and when I analyze it, it was likely because it was extremely nich targeted, while the others were probably too broad.
Media buys can be a very good way to drive sizable volume to a campaign that is working for you. Most companies like Myspace, AOL, Yahoo, MSN, and others are willing tell sell CPM's for pennies because the big advertisers have cut back in the bad economy, so these networks are desperate for anything they can get.
Great, thanks for sharing so far. Does anyone know any good resources for buying traffic?

Since your post is almost 2 yrs old, I was wondering if you still do media buys?
Ever tried promoting a product for cash or just try to build list?
Care to share your thoughts on your results?
Where can I get a few $50 a month sites to place ads on?
Did you make your own banners and if so, how?
I've never made a banner ad before.
Why don't you write a simple step-by-step report and sell it and make some $$$?
Separate names with a comma.
