and you make at least X,XXX per month with Facebook's content monetization program by creating reels and/or videos. There's also text and image posts but I think reels and videos make more in RPM.

I often see reels with lots of views like 200k, 500k, 1 million, 2 million views, made by pages/profiles with lots of followers or even not so many followers. I guess because of Facebook's reach, a lot of non followers can still see your reels if you can get them viral. Like they post reels of playing with their dogs and they get so many views. Or posting funny pranks, street interviews, food reviews. They must be making money or wouldn't be posting so many of them, right?

I think it is called content monetization, in stream ads, or performance bonus program?

Anyone here making good money with this and willing to share some details? How much you make RPM? How many views on average do you get? How to get more views even if you don't have a lot of followers? How to get into the content monetization program?

Yes, Facebook has content monetization programs like Ads on Reels and in-stream ads. If your Reels go viral, RPM can reach a few dollars, and with hundreds of thousands to millions of views, you can earn a decent amount. Viral content includes funny clips, pets, food reviews, etc. You don’t need many followers—just engaging content. To join, your page needs to meet the requirements. Check eligibility in Creator Studio.

I find that short reels content like pet humor or food reviews often go viral and bring in a lot of views. You can focus on this type and check your eligibility to enable monetization in Creator Studio.

Yes, Facebook offers monetization through in-stream ads, bonuses, and other programs. Earnings (RPM) vary widely depending on niche, audience location, and engagement. To grow, focus on consistent, high-quality, shareable content (reels, short videos, trending formats) that encourages watch time and interaction. You can apply for monetization once your page/profile meets Facebook’s eligibility criteria.

I don't think they violated the policy, as long as the original content goes viral, Facebook's algorithm will direct the video to more people.

I just did some research and it looks like the RPM for reels is like around $0.10? Is this for real? So you need millions of views per day to make it worth the time.

Interesting, to be able to get monetized for in-stream ads, you need to have at least 10,000 followers and the most important is meeting the "Facebook monetization policy" (i.e you have no content that was flagged or that violate their policy).

Also, note that you must have been posting consistently for the last 60days and must have had 600,000+ total minutes viewed so far. after that, you can then apply for monetisation.

Now, how do you get to this threshold of having lots of views? if you have an active Tiktok account, you can use that medium to always test your videos and see how it does, then put the best ones on your facebook page and then boost it to get more visibility and views.
