Heard the news that one of them had been caught - poor guy is done for if he gets extradited:(

Sounds like lulzsec are still going steady though? Wondering if they are going to go for trend-micro or Sophos? -sounded possible from some of their tweets (ps not condoning - I know hacking isn't aloud here, just making convo!).

I read the whole timeline and couldn't quite work out if that's for or against lulzsec, but I take it by the wording it's against?

Not sure on my stance, don't know enough about them. Think anyone who is that good on a computer is cool though, CNN I beleive named them as tech-savvy teens - but I think that's a slight under-valuation.

No. This AntiSec operation is created by LulzSec teaming up with Anonymous (pastebin. com/9KyA0E5v) so it's definitely not against them.
And also their leader is (according to lulzsecexposed.blogspot. com) 34 years old and the rest of them should be in their mid-twenties. Their tweets may seem light-hearted, but they are not a bunch of bored teens.

    I dont think so.
You think the feds can subpeona a Iran botnet ip address? Don't think about it too hard.
Lets say even if they did, only thing theyd get is the real subscribers information in Iran. Not the hacker.
The real guys using them would be very hard to track down, unless you know for certain that the individual would connect to the same Iran or whatever botnet zombie again, and by then you would need to sniff traffic and/or log.

Doing so would then only lead to another russian zombie that would lead to another zombie in another non us information sharing country and so on. And after several chains later, they could be at a internet cafe in fucking Zimbabwe at the end of the trail, or a connection in Greece where the hacker is using a neighbor's cracked WEP network.

The only people that are going to be caught are the kids that don't know what theyre doing and supporting them without any knowledge in computer security. (Hence the guy who got caught, which I really doubt is part of them. He's just some kid that runs irc servers it seems like). Not to mention naive kids that try to follow the movement, but at the same time, use their real names and email addresses, etc... and wonder how they got caught.
People who know what theyre doing, create a total fake persona (with someone elses real information) and never have any part of their real life, name, job or hobby ever published online. If all goes to hell, and the person is somehow 'connected to the dots' by timezone, user names, etc... That fake persona is then what the 'detective' finds. And of course that person is a real person that has nothing to do with anything.

Easily said, it's the same as planning out a bank robbery - easy to explain how not to get caught, but different when your in it, it's the same with any criminal activity - how careful can you be, how seriously do you take paranoia? Too slack, you get caught, to much you go mad, and how do you know if your being careful enough anyway, if you are being watched, you'll never know until it's too late and they're knocking on your door!

Don't misunderstand my point, I'm not against them in the slightest - just saying.

I do agree though, that kid was probably very loosly affiliated with them, if at all, but he will become a scape goat I'm sure:(

Yeah i mean i don't agree with them hacking the fbi or releasing the census information or anything off that sort i am talking about the feud between team poison and lulz and then you've got a blog like lulzexposed who's trying to get them arrested.... I didn't mean to sound like i was interested in them hacking or using botnets or taking down services they have no business with.

Given that the FBI is on record admitting that one in every four hackers is a counter-intelligence agent who infiltrates a group to either bring it down or 'steer' it, it's safe to say Lulzsec is likely already infiltrated.

I smell a cyber-rainmaking operation about this whole flap, as this overtly provocative cell 'just happens' to show up making all their noises just as Congress is deliberating over a draconian 'cybersecurity' bill that will exert vast new government controls over the internet. More details here:

    The 'hackers' today :)
Fighting over who is allowed to greet who, warning each other and pointing to news articles written by professional content spinners as if it's from Moses himself, and then using IRC logs as proof. That's tamper resistant. Really strange nobody is offering logs of any kind already on fiverr & stuff.

i "lulz" at this thread. blackhatters judging hackers, imagine that.

it's one of the most interesting wars of all time, you are witnessing history. never before has such a thing happened, it is the movie hackers in real life, or as close as the movie hackers could ever come to real life.

    make some popcorn. ;)
