Thats all I have blank referrers and cj is pissing me off with it.

I have never been questioned about blank referers from cj. It may have a lot to do with the particular advertiser causing the problems.

Haven't had a real big problem with it to be honest, of course it depends on volume and the specific advertiser.

Never had a problem with it before. I blank all of my aff links and have never been asked questions. If they ask, tell them it's so that your tactics don't get stolen.

I did, they told me it was agaisnt their tos and I don't know they are being asses about it.

I keep telling them it's my tracking system and that I'll never show them my urls and they keep saying it's against tos and it keeps going back and forth.

Just a question, if you have a massive email list, and you spam them with offers, but you use a redirect,

If the email users complains to CJ/advertiser that you are spamming their email accounts with offers, would you get banned..

despite a redirect?

Staying on the topic of blank referrers...How can i find out the referrer coming to my cj.com links? To make sure its appearing blank or to make sure a redirect is indeed working...how do i go about on checking this? Thanks

Use HTTP Analyzer which costs or use the HTTP Live Headers plugin for FF which is free

Only way I make $$ on CJ... otherwise id be screwed...

this month is my first payday, so I guess we will find out...

gonna use that 'tactics dont get stolen' line...

Yeah I'd start with that, they'll say "OMG tell us", then I 'relent' and tell them it's mostly PPC.

You know their next question, answer "No, of course I don't bid on copyrighted terms!"

But I won't say which terms I do use... "my good terms and good ad writing are working too well, so they stay my secret" That I don't relent on.

Only happened once, but I was reactivated quickly.

CJ questioned me hard this month about the re-directs and blank referrers .. I went back and forth through maybe 20 emails and I am still in limbo.

Yeah I should have mentioned my experience was in 2005, sorry. They must be way more uptight now.

Though, to this day, I only send them blank/laundered refers... and ZERO impression data. But my account's old and has staff notes added to it saying I'm cool.

I may have an unfair advantage in that I have a pretty good telephone rap (or social engineering skills, if you prefer) so if you're brave enough to use phone instead of email, that might clear it up faster. Catch them in the next couple of days, while they're full of forgiving Christmas spirit. =]

P.S. I got that staff note on my account because I talked to the guy on the phone...
P.P.S. Of course if you can't help the situation by talking on the phone and having to answer questions in real time, then definitely don't call!

Gen Said 100% right. I am old player of cj. Actually they are my first love of money making from 5-6 years:P. They use to ask question.better is first 3 month should be very careful as they use to look in to state for first 3 months very deeply after 3 successful payments you can play with them easy:D

@ vinku - that's some very useful info, i've just signed up with them to extend the amount of cpa networks i've been using, so far no issues with faking/blanking

talk to your affiliate manager ask him if its okay to do offline marketing.

he will tell you yes and never ask questsions about blank referers.

CJ? Blank Referer?

Are you cookie stuffing? You need to get a good conversion rate if you want to get by with blank referers. If your cookie stuffing, odds are your conversion rate is not what it should be by their standards.

What do you think they consider a "good" conversion rate?
