Anyone have experience with a hosting in Honk Kong?

So I was planning to buy a dedicated server for my site which is decently populated. I'm getting a dedicated server in Honk Kong since its cheap and has good specs. When i asked my friend he said servers in HongKong gives higher pings than servers in other countries. Currently my server is located in Russia and it gives good speed.

Oh yeah the connection speed of the HonkKong server is going to be 100mbps so anyone having a clue about HK servers please reply if its good or not.

Any update on this? How's the speed compared to Russia's?

Honestly, it depends on the company. Ive had a few shared hosting accounts in HK, they all had shitty pings but were very cheap. See if the host offers some sort of a speed test or bandwidth charts.
