If we use the metrics of "fresh and healthy food, fresh and breathable air, green and non-toxic spaces, clean drinking water, free and highly effective medicines, total privacy and freedom for all humans regardless of race, nation, status"
Then nothing monetary is valuable, paper money, digital money, cattle money. All worthless in a sense.
exactly! None of them are valuable and I'm willing to be that by 2050 all money will be gone as we move into a new era of consciousness in which money serves no purpose anymore.
because you understand it. I am not tech-savvy, so I don't get crypto. I also have the capacity to learn it if I choose to, but I refuse to do it because it's not normal for the other reasons that I've explained.
And if I can't learn it, I can assure you that most (like 95%) people over 50 are incapable of learning it too. They might learn how to use it, that's not very complicated. But understanding all of that blockchain and encryption crap is hard to get by ordinary people, and people tend to dislike what they can't understand. Which is probably one of the main reasons for which crypto will never catch on to the masses, and which is more of a geeky whim than money.
like with anything at first it's confusing it's why they teach money in school although we all know it's straightforward they still teach it in school because at first it's confusing.
I've been using and understanding how money works since I was in elementary school, and I can assure you that I've not learned about how economy works (therefore how money works) until in high school, and even then I have failed this class lol
Of course, this doesn't mean that everyone's as stupid as me, but the point is that if I were able to understand how to use money as a young kid, before even going to school (and being as stupid as I am) then money is not hard to understand, especially when you hold it in your hand and understand - as a kid - that this can get you toys or candy. Not very hard to understand this
all scams. They shouldn't be understood, taught, or even exist but that's a story for another day...
supply/demand all this stuff is straightforward once you know it
supply/demand is straightforward indeed. Even I (with my low IQ) could understand that if the supply is high it means that the demand can be low and that the costs are low, and vice-versa.
So in this regard I agree with you
this applies to crypto as well when you dive into wallet security. decentralized exchanges, transaction swaps etc.
not in a million years...
If you manage to make my 70+ y/o mother understand what these abominations are and how she can use them to keep her money safe it means that you are one helluva a good teacher, definitely not that crypto is easy. to understand.
In order for me (who had grown up glued to his computer 24/7 since 2002, so for 23 years now) to understand all of those things you've mentioned I had to spend over a month learning about blockchains, encryption, how to make transactions online with their billions and retarded rules and fees, and so on...
Even now, after knowing so much about crypto vs 2023 when I didn't even know what this word means, I am still uncomfortable dealing with this vague and virtual thing, and I am prone to getting scammed continuously by other smart people like you. Imagine how my parents, or your parents, or everyone else's parents will feel when you present this garbage to them. It's like you going back in the era of the Roman empire and trying to teach the common citizens how to build a computer. You'd have to teach them first what electricity is and how it works, what circuits are and how they work, you'll also have to teach them how to build robots so they can make the CPU and the GPU, and millions of other things.
They'll look at you like you're an alien or something because - to them - you are an alien because the difference in knowledge is so big between you and them that they'll not understand anything and they'll want to have none to do with your technology when all they want is to spill blood, eat, and satisfy their sexual needs.
Crypto represents for the normal people of our society what basic technology represents for barbarians and for our ancestors: devices from the Devil, or pure magic at best. And on top of it, crypto is also a tool of scamming people and it's not even in their hands like real money is.
Once you have the fundamental understanding down, it becomes simple.
You assume that everyone's built like you, the math and technology lovers. I can assure you that this is not the case, and that many people (probably most of them if I were to guess) only care about the simple things in life.
For most people, happiness means having food, shelter, and entertainment. Try to explain crypto to them, or force them to use it as money and they'll soon form communities around their common hatred towards this, so they can reject it, and reject you for trying to disturb their happiness.
I don't fully agree with this and I feel like humans should always strive to become better and to learn more, but I also understand that most (if not all) decisions and actions of humans are motivated by their selfish happiness. So, if they don't see how crypto satisfies their selfish needs for happiness, they'll reject it in a heatbeat. Especially when you tell them that it's not actually their "money" like the fake pieces of paper that they got used to are, so they can't have any interaction with it since they can't feel it with their senses... Yeah, I don't see crypto catching on, on a global scale and that's a good thing...
As for the agenda and CBDC - I agree with you however, I don't understand it enough for it to be a concern for me right now.
I'd probably get into politics if I tried explaining it, so I'm refraining from doing this. Another time, another place maybe...
Although if I have any intention of making it to 2050, I should probably look into it a little bit more than some doom posting engagement posts on facebook lol.
I think so too
Apologies if I came off as your golden messiah to onboard you into crypto - I had thought you were caught up on something and it would be simple to resolve
no problem, man. You did no wrong, you don't have to apologize. I've actually had fun chatting with you, but we're probably going off-topic, so I think we should stop now
But yeah, it's been fun. Take care!
