    Hello,

Anyone got recovered from recent EMD update?

It would be grateful if you share that method to recover the domain.

Thank you and let's see the results...

It's been talked about pretty extensively in several threads. To sum it up for you, build better websites.

Ok, let me tell you how my girlfriend and me accomplished this on one of her EMD websites which was hit.

Please note, the guide below outlines what we did, it may not work for you. It is possible that the recovery of our rank is unrelated to actions we took. Our rank my have recovered for other reasons, such as being in the Google dance.

Quick Guide on How We Recovered Our EMD's Rank
    1. We bought three expiring PR5 domain names in very closely related niches. For example if our niche was paleo recipes we bought domains in the healthy recipes niche.
    • 1,000 word articles were written for each domain and we hosted each domain on a separate server.
    • One of the domains was used to link back to our hit EMD.
    • The two remaining domains will be used to link back eventually. We did not want three PR5 backlinks randomly popping up right after we were hit.
    2. We wrote fresh content and we fixed up our old content.
    • Any article under 800 words was rewritten to bring it up to about 1,000 words.
    • New 1,000 word articles were written.
    • We lowered keyword density to 1% or below.
    • We added videos to all the articles and some extra images.
    3. We never paused our altered our normal backlinking routines.
    • I won't go in to detail here. Suffice to say if we manually created five backlinks a day on related blogs this never stopped. I read somewhere that changing your routine after being hit is a sign to Google that you are backlink spamming.
    4. We created four YouTube videos and posted them to the site.
    • Easy stuff here. We just created some niche YouTube videos, for example a paleo snack recipe video and posted it to YouTube. We linked back to the site in the description of the video. We also embedded the videos in the various new posts discussed in '1'.

As of yesterday we were ranked back higher than ever for some moderately competitive keywords.

Again, we do not know if what we did helped us regain our rank. Many sites lose rank for a week or two and come back stronger. Our actions and our regaining rank could be completely unrelated.

I think the key point here is we improved the quality of our content.

    • Thanks Thanks x 4

This is the truth and one of the best ways to do it.

We regained our rank yesterday and it has maintained so far. We were hit on the same day as everybody else was hit.

EMD's are working even better now specially after the last update. It's all about how to plan and have a good strategy. Don't be afraid of trying something new :)

I agree. I have a dozen EMDs in a single niche hosted at seohost and all working just fine. Original and long content and images seem a must for EMD success
