I always had stress, paranoia and sadness issues from coffee but it really helped me with IM work. Ive read what i already thought that its detrimental to testosterone and creates stress and depression.

I have been thinking of limit from 4x daily to 1x or 2x.

How r u guys doing with coffee? Im not sure if 1 daily is enough.

PS, coffeein pill in morning, drink 0.75l of water, in 15min im doing IM totally focused. its really great thing

If coffee makes you feel so bad maybe you should stop drinking it?

Too much coffee drink makes my body goes haywire, I avoid it
I drink tea more (like green tea), unsweetened but not every day
I don't think it keeps me focus me though

I’m on the other side of the fence. I can’t wait to drink my morning & 1-2PM coffees.

I get extremely jittery, it's almost like coffee is crack cocaine to me. Anxiety and stressed out, can't sleep for almost 20h after ingesting one (yes, 1) cup. I don't touch caffeine anymore.

Dude you should find an alternative, it is really bad if you feel somehow stressed from coffee. I drink like 3 cups a day and it does not hit me at all, I can drink it in the evening and sleep like a baby.

try splitting your coffeebreaks in half and use one half as coffeebreaks and the other half for green or white tea breaks. Last year i drank 10 cups of espresso per day, now i switched to tea and i dont need the raw power of caffeine anymore when i have some of the tannins from tea :)

The only stress situation coffee could make to me is if it drops all over my computer :p

On a serious note, if it makes you feel that way you should stop drinking it mate, find another way to get focused.

Actually this is very interesting. I'm not getting stressed after drinking coffee, but I am after...smoking a cigarette.

Maybe it's because heart rate is faster after and that's the state when you are stressed and your brain "think" that's the case?

Try changing the coffee shop? or the brand you use. I usually change the coffee brand from time to time. it helps me feel different when I have the coffee.

If i drink 3 then i feel weird. Sweating for no reason. But my mind can get more focused on IM too.
But with 2 a day is fine.

 isn't 4x daily a bit excessive? Cut it down and see if you can function well without that much. Test your limits and find your balance.

    ive structured my statement wrong.

coffee doesnt cause stress instantly. it increases motivation, energy and dopamine while supressing stress and sad thoughts during the "HIGH". but when/after effecfs wear off you should feel mega stressed and sad. i have this and ive read many posts on internet frompeople who have it too

in other words stress before taking coffee is smaller than after coffee effects wear off

Switch to black tea - you may find it helps your focus even more, while eliminating the negative effects you mentioned, due to the l-theanine and tannic acid. I can't drink coffee, because I get severe crashes from it 5-10 hours later, but black tea is relatively ok if I don't go crazy with it.

Yeah, welcome to the club. It's the cortisol spike that a cig causes, which is why you've probably noticed the anxiety is much worse in the morning, but non-existent late at night. And yes, there's a feedback loop like you mentioned, where your brain tries to rationalize the physical effect of the cig and makes you mentally stressed as well: http://medhelp.org/posts/Smoking-Ad...briefly-after-smoking-cigarettes/show/1660007

Ohh never heard of it! Very interesting tho

    Forreal! Thanks

And by the way - are you from States? I see "anxiety" term being used SO MANY TIMES in the internet, especially by US citizens, that this is even weird to look at. In my country we never used such term, I dont think people really have problems like that. Is it America's national disease? :D or rather people abuse using this term to feel more comfortable and position themselves as a victims?

I feel like people use it as excuse for their failures and as way to hide from consequences of their actions. Like "i am like i am <unscuccesful> because of anxiety". Really, looking at forums, twitter etc. from outside it looks like that. Like every 5 of 10 people how anxiety out there (or at least claim so).

Many times I see people who don't get what they want/struggle for results in my niche for example and a lot of them write about anxiety. It looks like it's kinda "trendy" (I don't know if that's the right word) to "have" anxiety these days.
