Anyone from MIAMI?

Miami is my dream city i would really like to live there. Altoguh i never been there ive seen it in lots of movies, tv shows, and its amazing. Anyone from Miami here can share good/bad sides of living there?

Don't believe what you see on TV or in the movies. All of that takes place in about a 10-20 block radius. Unless you can afford to live on Star Island, Miami is a dump and South Beach is the cokehead capital of the world. You wanna see the real Miami? Watch the show "The First 48" or download some episodes if you can't get it. The only thing I love about Miami is leaving it.

Miami, sucks unless you know Spanish, I am from Orlando and I travel there a lot. My advice learn the language, you will have a much better time.

Yeah I know this guy Tony there and I met his little friend too but he has a little bit of an attitude problem so I stay away...

I haven't been to Miami in years but the last time I went there were whole areas we were warned not to travel into.
The advice was to just stay in the tourist and wealthy districts.

I agree Miami is a dump except for the 10 -20 block radius around south beach or so. The Miami people is used to seeing is the tourist spots but the real city nothing special at all. Miami is a great place to vacation or network for connects to cocaine if that is what your into

If you're looking for a Miami adventure, get it from GTA Vice City. More fun anyway.

It's like any other big city in the USA. There's good, there's bad, and there's some crazy. It's true there's some danger there, but show me a city that doesn't have a horribly shady area or too. The beach is what makes it so much different. Sure there's plenty of beaches up and down the east coast, but there's only 1 "South Beach". It's a playground for the rich honestly, as just about everything there is going to be a lot more expensive than even 10 or 15 minutes away. If you're looking for glamour and glitz, you'll find all you can desire. It really depends on where you want to be, and what you want to do. If you're just tryin to kick it and have a good time, you'll have a blast. If you want to find some trouble though, there's plenty of that too. Honestly it really is similar to just about any big city, it's just summer time all year round with a beach. San Diego is similar, and they don't get nearly as much of the humidity.

But really disappointed by the reviews above. I still can't/don't want to believe.

I was born just south of there. It use to be a great place. Visited a few years ago, most of it was completely trashed out. I don't wish a natural disaster on anyone, but miami could really use a good clean up.. If you really want a good look at it, save your money and google street it.

If you have money you'll LOVE Miami

I'm from Tampa but I visit often! Great shopping, great women, lots of drugs if you're into it (I'm not since i knew you were curious ) the clubs are amazing nothing really compares to LIV.

It's just an awesome place.. Oh but the traffic sucks and the beaches are better in Tampa

Plus I don't speak a lot of Spanish which can make things difficult depending on what type of place you're in. It's a lot of fun but maybe that's because I only vacation there
