Anyone experienced this before?

Have been building quality PBN links to my site, targeting several money KWs.

Now this is happening as I build them:
Money KWs - Rankings stay the same or drop a little
Overall website organic traffic - Rises steadily and substantially

Anyone experienced something like this before? And now comes the question, is there any way to funnel link juice purely to those money KWs so that they increase in rank?

The reason why your overall organic traffic is increasing is because your LSI and other non-targeted keywords' rankings will also improve.

So let's say you're ranking for the keyword "belgian chocolates". Google will selectively rank other LSI or even long-term keywords (depending on what other keywords are in your articles) that you're not even targeting like "best belgian chocolates", "what is the average price for belgian chocolates", "what classifies chocolates as belgian", .etc. Remember, it depends on what other keywords you have in the article. Google's algorithm will handpick them and rank them without you knowing what they are as it also depends on the keywords you've (unintentionally) added to your article.

That's how Google works.

That's why if I were to google for tips like "Yoga for body toning" I will come across some websites that aren't even targeting for that primary keyword ("yoga for body toning") but some generic yoga articles WITH a section discussing about yoga poses that tones one's body.

You can't really 'funnel' the linkjuice. What I recommend is optimizing your onpage SEO even more (increasing money kws density, H1 tags, H2 tags, and so on), and offpage SEO (backlinking back to your money site with the money kws).

Thanks Sophie for the advice. So if you were in my situation now, would you say that everything is going in the right direction?

That aside, yes I'll probably focus more precisely on my money kws for linkbuilding moving forward.
