anyone else's ranking hit by google today?

Hi,
I just found that today my main site has 1/5 of the visits it usually has at this time of the day.
A couple of articles I had on the second page of google, don't appear on the first 6-7 pages...
Is it just me? or it's a more general thing?

Anything I can do about it?

I think there was an update last night. One site of my sites is completely gone and the rest moved up..

I was trying to figure out what was going on but now I think there was some type of update.

The only way to be sure though is if other people sites seen some changes.

I don't know if I'm being paranoid but is it possible they are penalizing my main site due to to adwords problems with another (minor) site of mine?

I had (one of) my adwords account suspended a few months ago and they asked me to fix that minor site. So yesterday I took some crap articles a freelancer wrote for me once and put them on that minor site and emailed back google asking to review my site an un-suspend my account.

This morning I found:
a) google tells me the articles I put on that site are not unique
b) my main site (which contains only unique articles) is down

Is it possible in some way they checked also my other websites and penalized them for this adwords problem?
Geeez, these people are such a pain in the ass! I hate those guys....
 
Im not to sure since I don't use adwords but seeing how you said the articles were "crap" that you put on your minor site. If google know about them (your 2 sites) im sure they probably checked back on both of them. I can't really speak much about this since I don't use adwords and never have.

I remember back in 2010-2011 One of my sites on my server got a penalty which lead to all my sites on that particular sever getting a penalty (maybe do to a manual review) since my sites were the only sites hosted on that server. So I wouldn't be surprised if google took action on both of your domains.
 
I doubt it's that problem you mentioned, it seems to me that there was a penguin refresh a few days ago and the serps are still shuffling.

I guess I've been a dick.
Funny thing is that they didn't penalize my main site when I did shit with my minor site, but only when I tried to make things better by trying to fix it... I guess that's a manual review gone wrong...

But what should I do know?
Should I ask them? or will that make things worse?
 
i get knock down to page 6/7 from page 1/2 for using auto tier 1 :cool: :cool:
 
one of the sites that i was working in the last month and was getting 200-300 unique/day...today i had only !!!!27!!! uniques...
it's sad!
 
Wow! Just checked google analytics.
Organic traffic: 7 visits! Seven!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's fucking ridiculous!

I really don't understand, that's my best site with all super unique content, no spam, clean backlinks from respectable sources... How does this happen?? And even more importantly, is there a way to get it back where it was before?

Any suggestion?
 
My SERPs jumped from rank 5 to rank 1 on two sites, and rank 6 to rank 7 on the other one.
Commenting on a related website, and it jumped above me in the results lol
 
I start thinking it may have been a manual penalty.

Is it also possible that some competitor affiliate have in some way got me penalized?

Last night, all of my keywords suffered 30-40 positions and traffic decreased dramatically.
