Anyone Else Use USPS 1st Class Package/Thick Envelope Service As Main Shipping Method?

So I ship all my items via USPS 1st Class Package/Thick Envelope service (13oz or less). I print out my postage online, and then I put all my packages in a USPS drop box at the end of the day.

This method has worked well for me, but as sales have began to increase, this method has become a little bit impractical. There's got to be a better way to do this than driving to the Post Office and shoving 100+ packages in the drop box at once.

Does anyone else ship large volumes with this service? If so, how do you handle it? I know you can schedule pick up with USPS, but according to their website, pick up is only available if you have at least one Priority or Express Mail package.

Don't really see the problem. Are you afraid that your 100 packages won't fit in a box or something?
 
should be pretty easy to just walk in the post office with your merchandise in a box or tub and hand it to a clerk and tell em the postage is already affixed you just need to drop it off. do it all the time

This or call USPS and say you're shipping 100 packages a day and need daily pick up.

Are you getting any discounts on the shipping costs for 100 packages a day?
 
Anyone know what the prices are and were to print the postage? I can't find were :p
 
If I recall, Paypal rates were discounted for Priority, don't know about 1st class (haven't done eBay for a while). They'll schedule pickups with a call or web request depending on your area.

Speak to your local postmaster about services available. Under their new organization, you might actually be serviced from somewhere else, but the local guys know all of the ins and outs.
 
You can do daily pick up, there is no charge for it. They also provide bins to fill your packages with. I spoke with my mailman, and figured out what times he would be coming for the pick up, so my packages are ready by then. Saves a lot of time not having to go to the post office.
 
Ebay and paypal both have discounted first class packaging prices. They are cheaper than using usps online or going to the post office. Priority mail shipments also have discounted prices as well.
 
question how come first class envelopes have to be 3/4 inch thick. i sell currency so essentially flat packages however if i dont put something in the envelope to make it thick it gets returned. how stupid is that? for them if htey took them flat they would stack easier and take up less space in bins and in their trucks. i wind up rolling up paper towels or thorwing in packing peanuts not to protect my items but so they dont return my package

The post office picks up any mail if the red flag on your mailbox is up, for free. Scheduled pickups are a little different. Usually you can drop them off at a UPS store, or something like it, where the mail man comes by and picks up outgoing mail... There's really not a better solution, except to spend the extra 10 bucks to make a dummy priority box, and give him all of it when he shows.
