lately I’ve been thinking about this a lot. streams with 20 viewers but constant chat movement seem to get pushed harder than streams sitting at 60 with dead silence. feels like engagement signals are weighted differently now.
I’ve tested this a bit on smaller channels. when chat is active, even with fewer viewers, discoverability seems better and retention goes up. when it’s just passive viewers, nothing really happens.
maybe the algo is valuing interaction depth over raw numbers now.
are you guys seeing the same pattern on your end or is it just niche dependent?
