Anyone else notices a decrease in sales on eBay?

I used to sell different items on eBay for a long time, however, for the last weeks I didn't have much success in getting sales.

How can it be, that e.g. a seller with a low feedback of 50 (including even negative feedback) has his listings higher ranked than me with an aged account and 100% positive feedback? We sell the same item, his item is a bit cheaper. However, I do not even get views. He gets hundreds of views while I get maybe 30-40, he sells several items a day while I have trouble in selling even 1.
This is one specific item, however, also if I sell other items, I noticed that views are decreasing rapidly. When I start an auction (BIN), my item is always ranked as second or third from last, and it always stays their and never goes up.
There are so many sellers with new account and bad feedback performing much better than me, so I must be something missing here???

Maybe my question was not stated exactly enough: I want to ask how can I improve my ranking in eBay search results and why can other people with bad accounts get higher rankings than me.

So in order to get many sales, you must have many views. In order to get many views, your item has to be ranked high. So if my item would be ranked high I would not need to become a TRS. eBay looks at the last few days sales as an indicator of a good product, so if an item has a lot of purchases recently then it might get a further boost. What experienced sellers do is sell a few items then revise the price upwards. Check your competitors revision history.

Some people believe that if you have a lot of watchers then eBay gives your listing a boost, although I'm not convinced.

I'm auctioning everything off rather than BINs until I become a TRS. I've noticed a few of my items go for way higher than I expected it would go for on a fixed price listing.

About the product, it seems that he did it the other way round .... he sold 110 pieces, the first pieces at a higher price and then decreased the price .....
So you think it is better to use auction format instead of BIN? But I cannot start with $1, my starting price would be in fact the same as my BIN price.

About the other thing, do you know why this seller gets his items ranked so high? He is not a TRS. He is a normal private seller with a feedback of 79 (96 % positive). Before he started to list this item, he even only had a feedback of about 50 (90% positive).
And if you search for his item, he is on top position.

I have some experience and close to 1k in feedback. So here's my 2 cents, since some cases are different:

You get the top position with a variety of factors:

1. Your standard must be above average
2. You ship really fast (under 24 hours)
3. High feedback
4. Price, although not a big factor as people think
5. You meet the TRS requirements (even if you're not labeled TRS)
6. Traction. Meaning, if you've a rapid amount in sales that pushes you up. I remember when I was selling things in a competitive niche, I always made sure to be either #2 or #3 (price-wise) and not necessarilly the lowest because as soon as those guys sold out, i'll be the next one in line.
7. Ratings.
8. One of the most that people miss: keywords. Throw in tags in your listings and title. This affects your position also. I always threw in undercase random/relevant words at the end of the title. I tested this several times and this does have an impact on position. Don't be afraid to use relevant acronyms also.

As I said, it's mixture of things. If you are competing by price point, as most people do, you don't have to be the lowest. Try to be either #2 or #3.

Hmmm, that's weird. I don't get it.

I've noticed a huge decrease. Had to ramp up my seo on my web page and start pushing social media ads.

SEO on an eBay listing? How to do that?
About social media ads, I tried pinging and also some social bookmarking to get more views.
However, once I heared that if you get many views to your listing but no sales, they will rank it lower ....

He must drive traffic from outside to his ebay listing, but how to do this? Moreover, if he is able to promote his ebay listing in that way, why not promote his own website and save fees??? I am selling on eBay because I cannot get traffic to my website. If I could, I would sell there.
