How come companies like forbes can pull this kind off adsense violation? I mean seriously, they have full page interstitial unit with a shitty 1 line quote at the top of it and a google ad unit bang in the middle of the page.

I would love for a google rep to see this and respond, as I too would like to implement this. But I would most likely lose my account within no time.

send an email to google adsense team and post here what will they say about that :) that website is a million dollar adsense website :D
 
Yup, big guys don't have to play by the rules. I've always noticed it and wondered about it too.
 
I'm pretty sure "Premium Adsense" members can get away with murder, as long as they keep making money for Google.

They have the traffic, so why put an end to a good thing?
 
Where is the page linked to from their site? Looks more like its meant for mobile or something.
 
if you load any forbes page, you will see that after a few seconds
 
Is that a DFP account? I have seen this violation in many big websites. Some even go as far as displaying the ads in popups. This includes one of my local news paper website which is pretty popular all over my country.
I have reported them multiple times, but nothing happens. I am interested in finding that out as well!
 
This is old. It is not just Forbes that is doing this, when you have millions of quality hits you can have a special deal I guess
 
tried a similar stunt.. my stats went up from $xx/day to $xxx/day but got banned after I received my payment.
 
Yeah I noticed this a long time ago, alot of big sites use this method. Man If I could I would make a nice penny as well.
 
Big brands have diff. rules... like that whole rapgenius hassle... they are a multi-million dollar site, it's completely ok to say "sorry we'll stop" and boom google reinstates ranking.

If it was a small guy or company? Byebye relations with Google forever.
 
if google does anything to forbes, forbes would deindex google from their mag, so I don't think anyone would even go talk to forbes about the violation
 
This is old and you can use similar layout for any other affiliate network without getting banned.

google sucks its dick to have their ads on that website
 
I see it all the time, even when going directly to a post from google itself. I thought the ads are from their own sponsors. Too bad.
 
This is old, they've been doing this ever since I can remember hence I don't visit the site because it pisses me off.

Most of the times I refuse to browse such sites, I don't mind ads but not when they're thrown in your face.
 
Wow you are so right. That is so much bs, Google might as well be spitting in the face of smaller adsense users. In any case doesnt' forbes also send paid traffic to their site? I'm pretty sure they do and that has to be another violation for sure

I don't get what is it you don't understand.
Premium adsense publishers are under a different set of rules.

If you have a set of 100 employees, the more productive ones will likely receive a raise and will be allowed to eat donuts...

I mean, we are talking about competition, the best ones get the most, that has always been like that and it will likely stay the same way.

Check 9gag and their static advert... that it clearly against adsense ToS, but hey, they bring loads of motherfucking traffic so, why not?
 
That's the difference between you (and me, and everyone on this site pretty much) and a 100 year old company with an international publication with a monthly circulation of over 900,000
