Anyone else notice a drop in traffic on the 28th August?

Hi all,

On the 28th August one of my websites went from around 400 visits a day to 60, and this continued up until yesterday.

This was not just an organic hit!

We lost almost all organic traffic, direct, referral, but most interestingly...PPC traffic too!

There have been no penalty warnings from Google, any errors at all in GWT, our rankings have actually improved and we have a healthy AdWords budget.

I'm stumped!

Any ideas what's going on/noticed anything yourselves around the same period??

All of my keywords went up on 28th, so I guess you're right, there was some small update

I don't see any fall or increase in my traffic, every thing seems normal for all my sites, any way will check once again today

according to webmaster tool, i lost a lot of impression, from 8k a day im down to 1k, but didnt lose any traffic

There was an update on Aug 26-28. I saw fluctuations in some rankings and others stayed stable. In majority of the cases rankings went up, a few went a little down. We are still analyzing the data but it looks like a algo refresh or tweak of some kind.

Cheers guys!

We saw all our rankings increase, impressions went up too which was why we are confused as to why we lost nearly all our traffic for a few days!

Traffic is starting going up again - this is actually meant to be our busier time I think!

i got the KW fluctuations only on July last week and August 1st week. But now its improving according.
This week i got the improvement from #18 to #16.
Out of 3 KWs one is drop and rest 2 are improved. Other than this all the keywords are in the same position.
