Anyone else not use Skype?

I have Skype only because affiliate network AMs are on Skype and it's needed for that. Otherwise I would not use it as it hogs up CPU because of broken flash advertisement code and they have not bothered to fix it for years... awesome. It freezes and sucks.

I regret putting Skype in my profile, for sure. But I now have a second Skype I use that usually doesn't consume any time, rather just all people that can benefit my business in any way. In my post/rant I wrote yesterday I mentioned that I got help from someone with my first site, and how important that was - I got in touch with him on Skype (via a Skype group), so in that sense Skype have been crucial for my business.

I do however agree that Skype makes it easy to get people to ask you a shitload of questions, and they think you are a mentor, which at least I am not (I try to help people most of the time though). This can consume time of your working hours but if you only accept people that will bring something to your business and what can I say "filter" using a primary Skype. Those that you understand will help you proceed in you business in any way can get moved to the second Skype.

That's how I do it.

Email has its own importance but it's not IM (Instant messaging). Rapid message exchange, voice and video calls, most people (if not all) doing business seriously do have Skype. Not sure why the hate.

If you are truly doing business seriously, you likely have a more stable solution than fuckin' Skype for handling international communication.

It's getting the hate from me and some others here because it's a cesspool of spam and constant contact requests. I swear to fuck I get more bullshit from people who can barely type via Skype than I did via Facebook when I gave eWhoring a shot back in high school. And at least those people had a reason to contact my fake as fuck profile.

Thanks for the laugh. Skype is probably as ametur as you can get. Let me guess you are not a pro unless you have a Gmail?

I have Google Apps hooked up to my [FIRSTNAME][LASTNAME].com. I just love Gmail's interface. But nobody has a clue because it's not coming from a Gmail domain account. Stealth as fuck, yo.

Never used Skype and probably never will. Wish I had never started to use Whatsapp. Fucking mithering fuckers with nothing better to do in life than constantly ask pointless fucking questions and send stupid pictures. It is due to Whatsapp that I now have to keep my phone on silent to get a minutes peace.
So fuckin true, i hate that app but can't live without it

I see no problem with Skype. It is easy to communicate with clients and fix problems/updates.

For me it is the fucking retards who spoil it for the normal people. I like it to keep in touch with friends. But then you get them dick heads who want a response to every dumb fucking message.

I had a guy from somewhere in the Middle East asking me to spoonfeed him how I built my ORM business. I tried explaining that it wasn't something that I could just map out for him and have him apply it to where he is. But still:

plz
plz
plz
plz
plz
plz
u there?
plz
plz
plz
i give paypal
plz
plz
plz
tell me i stop bother u
plz
plz
plz
cmon brow
plz

That was my snapping point. I have not logged onto Skype since.

I said "most" not all.

The troll bandwagon is here I see.

You said "most (if not all)."

I'm a serious businesswoman and I find the idea of Skype abhorrent. I am not here to babysit you. You don't need to IM me to ask "Did you get that thing I sent you?" You can just email me. If it's an emergency, it will still be an emergency when I reply to your email. 99.9% of the time it's not an emergency. It's just someone wanting to get their rocks off because they feel like they can have instant access to you whenever they please.

This is why I carefully screen my clients. If you need me to hold your hand or be available to you through unreasonable and unnecessary means of communication, I don't want to work with you.

And that's the bottom line, because I said so.

Skype has its uses at certain times, most of the time its a time waste but sadly its unavoidable as most customers want to discuss the custom projects via Skype even when I present them with an alternative.

if someone was to create a management tool for Skype my three requests would be auto block, redirect and rate limit. A example of use would be

1. Auto block - any vendor sending me there latest offers or holiday specials, stop being cheap get a aweber account.
2. Redirect to support desk- its a very special kind of customer who can bypass 10 training video a helpdesk and helpdesk QA, "I pressed start what's next"
3.Rate limit - fair enough if someone is spending $xxxx on a custom project there gonna want updates but if we have agreed a completion date there's no need to message every few hours "how's things progressing".

:) I get them on regular basis :)

nevertheless: skype is much, much better than whatsapp (at least in my case - where total idiots come out and never give up bombarding you.. of yeah, + other occasional spammers).

My skype rule #1: never approve a contact request if a person hasn't answered your simple and short "hi, do I know you?"

.. it works 100% :)

---

p.s. oh yes - I use skype on daily basis.. a lot.

:D this seems to be an skype spam v.2, in v.1 we had Sir, now bros.. who said that nothing will change? ;) :D
