Anyone else having problems with slide shows?

I am creating a wordpress blog using this theme:

and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the pictures up into the slide-show. It appears as though I just create my posts with pictures and it should take care of itself, but it doesn't.

How do I do this?

Also, where is a good tutorial site that is up to date with the modern wordpress.org version?
