Hey guys,

So, I'm on track to pull in over $100 for the month of June with Google Play with a few incredibly simple apps that really didn't take much knowledge of the Android API to develop.

I'm just curious, have any of you have any good success with Google Play? I don't know if my sales will continue, but for the month of May, I pulled in $38.48 and decided what the hell, I'll scale it up a little and threw out ten more apps. Doing that more than doubled my income for June, where I'm almost on par to bring in $100. I'm hoping that July will be a bigger earning month, but I don't know much about the trends in Google Play. I thought about just keeping my apps where they're at and not doing any more and seeing how July does in total, but then again, I definitely don't want to lose any steam I'm building up.

So yea.. The question at hand is.. Do any of you have any idea how the Google Play market trends are? Do you think my apps will continue to pick up steam, or do they eventually just die off all together?

Thanks!

Interesting...
I have 2 questions, and i hope you will answer them:
1) How much does your apps costs for an user?
2) Is it difficult to promote them?

I converted my website to Android App just to test it and published it as a free app on Google Play. Didn't do any promotion and already got 14 downloads 6 active installs and 1 rating (5 stars).

When publishing it, you have the option to advertise your app through AdMob. On the first week of the apps' exsitence I already received two e-mails. One is for offer of free ads exchange (credits system) and the other is from professional Google Play Store & Apple App Store for paid services. May be he is a member of BHW ;)

The connection with the merchant account went wrong, so I can offer only free apps through my Google Play account, but still promotion is promotion :)

I'll take a look at it! Maybe I'll create an app for my websites and see how it goes!

1. $1.00 per app
2. I haven't done any promoting. I just put them on the market and they were found by users.

I made a app, same concept but free, but it was one of those picture ones. I have one that was funny images, (i never really upkeep, but it has a few active installs) and one of sexy women (i think i have the largest collecting on trhe app store) and i was getting 3-4 dollars a day from adwords alone, b4 I got in trouble for having adword ads next to pictures of almost nude chicks. I replaced the ads with AFF but got less pay.

I honestly think its possible to make MNApps xD There was a wso or something that would show you how to promote your app and get it to stand out (basic stuff like unique icon that really stands out) and some other stuff. I didnt have to do anything special to my apps, people find them relatively easy and naked women apps make up 50% of the free apps on google play xD.

Another thing i noticed b4 you title your app, is that all my apps are either first or second in google play (they are rank n/a-0 however). and my app names are not really super unique. they are really basic (almost exact match) and im not doing anything to these, no backlinks, publicity, and im getting insta rank xD you can throw a url to your website and visitors can go to your site, which is basically a desktop version of the app.

Do you need to have company or smth to ad apps to google market?

I had some free apps in there with thousands of downloads, and made about $130/mo from ad revenue (but it was rising nicely month by month), and I had paid apps in there but they only made me about $30/month.

In my experience, I liked the free apps with an ads model in them, but that could've just been in my case.

EDIT: I launched the free apps about two months before the paid apps, but I do have an equal number of paid-to-free apps now (and still see better results with ads).

I actually thought about doing ads in my apps instead of charging for the apps, but I couldn't figure out how to get AdMob ads in an AIR app.

I tried to program the ads in using Java, but I always ran into a small issue. I said eff it and put the html ad on the actual website. Doesn't have that nice app ad look, but it works.

Anyone have experience doing the same in the AppStore

They have so many apps now, I'm guessing that those thousands of fart apps were created with just this in mind. Create 10-20 of them and make xxx/month

Would be interesting to know if you can earn anything, anymore in the AppStore with such apps without promoting. If you can't do it in the AppStore, Google's Market will soon reach a similar fate.

Yeah I've done iPhone, Android and Windows apps. iPhone apps pay the best...by far, ut Apple is getting harder and harder to work with. Android Market seems lax at first, until you get any report/flag on your app. I got flagged 3 times and Google took down my entire account, and am currently suspended. Windows is pretty lax also, and actually prolly the easiest to work with, but the market size is smaller. I've had better experience with paid apps in Windows than in Android. I havnt tried free apps in Windows yet, but might consider that soon. Windows does like 1/8 the sales of iPhone apps in my experience.

What did you get flagged for?

@xxtoni

If it's a nice app with value you don't need to promote it. People will download and rate it if it's good.

That is common sense but the vibe I got from this thread and no offense at all meant at the OP is that you create just any kind of app, doesn't have to be quality or good or anything and that people will download and you will earn money. I'm not familiar with Google's Market but I know for a fact that the AppStore is so crowded with such apps that without promotion or a really good app you don't stand a chance at getting downloads.

That's why I was asking about people that already deal with the AppStore.

That is very interesting. I am looking forward to seeing some more people post their replies. Planning on getting in to it shortly.
