I just realized that some of the moderators of my subs are gone, like the account never existed. No ban or anything. I can log in to the account, but then see no profile info, it just says:

"Sorry, nobody on Reddit goes by that name."

Then I go to account settings and there everything looks fine. Doesn't make any sense. All I see is some message about a reddit server error on top. But that message doesn't show in accounts where I can log in fine and they show normally.

Weird thing, I didn't even use the account for the past few days and it happened to 3 accounts, I think.

change your device from phone to desktop or desktop to phone or request to change password.

Ok, when I check the account profile, while logged out, it says "This account has been suspended". Weird, no warning, no message about it, nothing.

Will try, thanks.

Weird thing is...it doesn't show in the admin anything about a ban, no message, no email, no reasoning whatsoever. The account was simply banned and the only way it shows it says "server error", when I log in. Very weird.

The accounts got shadowbanned. When accounts shows as page not found is that they've been shadowbanned.

Yeah Reddit is ruthless.

They will let you post on a shadowbanned account sometimes forever. Gotta go incognito occassionally and make sure it doesn't say you're suspended. You will get no notification most of the time.

You get notifications if you get a permanent ban (idk what the difference is, either way, your account is typically toast whether it's shadowbanned or permabanned)

Create a new account or buy an aged one, warm it up for a week, and then request to be the Mod again of that subreddit and you can typically get it back. (edit: i think account needs to be 30 days aged)

my take is the difference is shadowbanned is algorithmic so they remove your posts immediately.

suspension is manual by an actual admin
i doubt they even look alot of times and just roll through it
if you read their monthly reports each admin would ahve to manually look at tons per day which doesn't seem plausible

I doubt the suspensions are manual tbh i went through 10 accs in the past 2 days with different content and all got suspended and i wasn't even posting in the popular subreddits, was posting in extremely small niche ones. (under 2k)
EDIT: And i felt like i got suspended once i hit a certain limit for posting like 15 posts in a day. Not sure, will test it out further and find out.

And the suspensions are not that bad of a thing, if you got a high karma post it will stay on top in the subreddit even though you are suspended.

One piece of golden advice is when your back is against the wall just look at your competition and whats working for them. How they are doing it - the posting behaviour (how much they post per day, time between posts and where they post), account age, karma etc.

The game is hard but the harder it gets, the more lucrative is for you if you have less and less competition.

I don't understand the algorithm that reddit use to ban accounts

Correct, all posts of those users were removed from subreddits immediately.

They were shadowbanned by the new Reddit Intel' Super Algo'.

Same thing happened to one of my accounts. Weird thing is it is unsuspended one day after and I can post as usual with that account like nothing happened.

yeah i was always skeptical too but if you do the math on the numbers reddit does an admin would have to do a suspension like every minutes if they have software that links up multiple accounts together and they count each comment in each of those group bans. so 10 accounts with 10 comments is probably considered 100 elimiation. they could easily do that every 15 minutes . they are proably usings ome software that bans people in groups so when you thin of it like that i think they are sort of manually doing it.

Most of the time the account is suspended or banned when the writing "Sorry, nobody on Reddit goes by that name." appears. Try to reset the password. Should work
