Anyone Else Getting Strange, Off-Topic Comments on Their Pinterest Pins?

Recently I’ve started seeing some really bizarre comments show up on my Pinterest pins. They have nothing to do with the actual pin — for instance, I’ll post something like a Christmas tree idea, and someone will leave a comment saying something random like “pretty home,” which doesn’t match the content at all.

What I find odd is that these accounts don’t save my pins, don’t follow, and don’t seem to interact in any meaningful way. Many of them appear to be older profiles, but with very little recent activity.

Is this happening to anyone else? Does anyone know what might cause these kinds of random comments?

Bots
They comment random shit everywhere to warm their accounts, probably bought aged accounts
Even here on BHW they are around
AI bots commenting garage everywhere

Got it. If I delete those comments, it shouldn’t affect my pins in any way, right? Is this happening to you as well, or is it just me?

Yeah, they're definitely bots. Someone made a bot farm that generates like 1,000 comments a day. But I've got a question: what's the point of these comments? And another question: is it possible to turn on some kind of moderation or confirmation with a captcha or something like that?

Yes, this happens to many creators because Pinterest has a lot of inactive, low-engagement, or bot-like accounts that leave generic comments to appear active, so those random messages usually aren’t targeted at you and don’t affect your pin performance.

Thank you!

Yes, this happens Pinterest sometimes shows spam or bot comments that aren’t related to your content. They usually come from old or low-activity accounts and don’t affect your reach. Just ignore or report if it’s clearly spam.

these types of meaningless comments quite often, the content of which has nothing to do with the pin. Usually, they are old accounts or bots trying to stay active by posting random comments. It doesn’t have much impact, I just delete it to clean up the feed, but I haven’t seen Pinterest take strong action on this issue

Yes, I experienced that too. The comments were very random and completely unrelated to the PIN. I noticed that these kinds of comments usually appear under PINs that have good reach

It seems to be a wave of low-quality or bot-like engagement on Pinterest, but thankfully it hasn’t affected my reach or performance, so I just ignore or delete the comments and keep posting normally.

It’s good to close the comments? Or it’s bad for the profile?
