Ugh, I tried this. At least here in the U.S. it makes much more sense to just dropship.

I made more money with Amazon, probably because they are a trusted brand, have good products, and don't take 14-60 days to get products to the customer.

I wouldn't suggest Aliexpress affiliate to anybody.

It all depends on how you want to attract your traffic to your Aliexpress affiliation.

Indeed, prices are very low on Aliexpress, which means that it takes a lot of affiliate sales to really win something. It requires a HUGE traffic.

I would not say that Allexpress is bad unlike Amazon, you just have to take it in a different way. Because for me, a simple blog on a niche or a product comparison for Amazon will work less well on Aliexpress in my opinion. But there is still potential if you manage to attract a lot of people!

Amazon has a much better reputation. I know that a lot of sellers on AliExpress are scammers.
    Better reputation= better business

I like to chime in here with a thought about AliExpress:

Here in the N-EU people (women especially) like to buy on AE; they recommend products to eachother in FB-groups, especially cheap alternatives to beauty-products and household items.
The only problem I see for being successful on AE is the fact that many of my users (>50%) are mobile users, and they like to use the AE app to make purchases quick and easy. But, when you place an affiliate link in your content, to a product on AE, the link will bring the user to the website of AE. The user will not be asked if he wants to use the mobile app to open the link/view the product. So when the user puts the product in his shopping cart, and then decides to finish the transaction in the AE app, the product will not appear in the shopping cart on the app. So the user has to find the product again and add it to his shopping cart on the app. Of course, the problem here is 2 things:

    1. The user might not want to go through the hassle of find thing the product again
    2. The cookie/tracking will be lost in the process, so no commission if a user switches to the app to make the purchase.

The above is at least what I have experienced by letting a regular AE shopper use an affiliate link on one of my websites to AE, then add product to shopping cart, then finishing the transaction on her phone: she had to find the product again and add it to the cart again, and after the transaction was completed, no affiliate commission was granted (the transaction was not recorded in my account at all).

So how do you solve this issue?

Agreed. Stay away from Aliexpress. Have had lots of clients try it and get nowhere.
