how did u go about niche research on it ?
I work as a consultant in the field already, and have a blog that generates me leads, so finding the niche was easy for me.
Sorry that doesn't help you.
Since my niche research answer wasn't helpful, let me offer this bit of advice. Use Udemy as a simple lead generation solution, without hard sales, that can generate small additional income. As an example niche, let's say you have an authority site in
running a small business. Now, build your Udemy course around aspects of that. I believe this is where so many fail on Udemy, because they build Udemy courses as their end all be all and/or push affiliate links immediately/constantly.
So follow this rough outline and see double success:
1) build a free course, offering up simple advice and solutions: make a course on business marketing, explain common problems and simple solutions. Don't point the content back to your site, just offer solutions within the content. Drop small hints about your next course of erring great solutions.
2) paid course(charging around $45): now build the content on this as authoritative within the course, offer full, current marketing advice. Discuss the various marketing channels someone should use(you should link back to informational articles on your site about the different channels, don't push affiliate stuff at them yet), offer simple tips on marketing within the channels(hint on next course of erring in-depth advice on advanced uses).
3) paid course(charge $95): now in this course discuss advanced techniques on using the various marketing channels. Offer them in-depth advice on how to split test ads, mirror ads, find cheaper ad networks, identify networks. Now you can link to pages on your site that offer solutions for this, including affiliate programs, as long as it is a good solution(if the affiliate has a trial period, push it as something for your blog visitors). Now start talking about other things good for marketing beyond ads.
4) free course: do an overview of social media for businesses, no links back to anywhere, hints.
5) paid course($45): discuss in-depth social media channels engagement techniques. Links back to your site's informational articles, drop hints.
Keep repeating this process of free, then paid, then higher cost. You'll get 100-50-25 through the courses if done well, done with specific focus on quality information, and avoid pushing offers without explaining the quality of your affiliate solutions. By the time you push an affiliate offer, you'll have pre-qualified leads, who have shown a desire to spend money. Another key point is to not price your courses too low, find a nice happy medium, that if 5 people purchase the course it pays for itself. Keep in mind, you want your final course to be more expensive than your affiliate offer: say it is a business management software that sells for $300, your course should be around $500-700, because the affiliate solution is seen as a great deal, not a further upsell. Your 2nd course should be offered at 1/2 price of the 3rd course.
There is much more you can do to drive content, complete sales, generate leads via Udemy.
If enough people express interest, I'll make a full guide to using Udemy for affiliate sales/lead generation from people that paid for to be sold a solution.
