I created a fresh Reddit account on a new device, stayed low-key for 1 to 3 months before engaging, yet the moment I drop a comment, they hit me with a shadowban. What's triggering this?

They probably flagged your IP or browser fingerprint, try using a mobile network or a fresh residential proxy.

Yeah, mobile proxies plus anti-detection browsers of your choice goes a long, long way. Not guaranteed though, especially if you use automation without knowing how to go about it. There are also subreddits to go and interact with for newer users so see if utilising those helps out as well. Might want to keep tabs of your IP quality too and make sure your connection isn't leaking out if you do use mobile proxies.

You can find out if you've really been shadowbanned, and using https://redplus.ai/en/reddit-shadowban-checker? and https://redplus.ai/en/reddit-shadowban-tester? can help you quickly check. If you are really shadowbanned, it may be that something violated community norms happened to your account during the warm-up process, or the proxy IP used was detected.

No one knows because it could be 1 of 100 different things and unless someone looked at your whole process it's hard to tell

hey @loveeecat ~ that's great advice and links...will help a lot of folks here as this seems to be a common problem.

Keep using your account normally for couple of days, then try and appeal it

What helped me: You need a fresh device + wait until you get a new IP assigned

I am also experienced with this situation but not to find out any solution. Still i am searching reedit problems. Hope this is not a device problem.

The shadowban is likely triggered by Reddit's automated system flagging your account's behavior or IP as suspicious
