Anybody using Stripe for Ebay/Amazon Dropship

Alright then!

I guess it's probably irrelevant whether it's for Amazon DS or not (is it?) but is anybody using Stripe for processing payments on Ebay instead of Paypal?

Wondering about your experiences?

I know that to accept CC on Ebay you need a business account.

WHy would you use a platform very few people have heard of over one which ok doesnt always give the best service of prices on transfers etc but is trusted by the masses.

Its almost the same reason I like to promote Amazon products because the trust factor is already there. Of course if you really think the benefits of this other payment processor ouweighs all this go ahead.

you are going to lose many buyers because most people use paypal on ebay.

Oh really..? I figure that is probably true, just a nice feature to have I guess.

There is no setup or anything so I could easily add it as an option.

stripe is a cc processor and a good one at that, doesn't matter if not many have heard of it.

OP can you really integrate stripe into ebay?

Stripe seems good since they only accept CC payments and NO paypal which is a great way to scare away low budget buyers. There is way too much scamming going on nowadays with paypap. Would never accept direct paypal payment on an authority site anymore.

Yea, they are damn good, the founders are from a town near me in Ireland.

I thought you could integrate into eBay.

Yea, that's a good point. A nice way to avoid PayPal holds too. Problem is the 7 day rolling payments. You have to wait for 7 days to get your cash. I guess it's only a problem starting out, once the money starts flowing it should be good. A credit card can be used to bridge the gap.

I agree on Stripe being a good one. We're currently using them and compared to 2checkout, they are much better, including their fraud filtering. We were getting hammered by 2checkout's lack of security, Stripe stopped that. Stripe's fraud filters seem to be even better than paypal's as well.

OP, can't comment on using it on Ebay, but you may encounter even less fraudulent chargebacks using it.

Stripe is good however I didn't know you could use them for ebay. Just FYI Stripe is US only so far!

? Paypal is incredibly safe for buyers. They don't even release buyer funds to the seller for 21 days. They have a buyer protection program.. so any buyer can dispute a case and get their money back

I use PayPal (rather successfully I might add). If you have a business account you can use it to process credit card payments. What makes you say Paypal scares away low budget buyers?

Strip appears to be available in the UK.

Also, it looks like you can accept credit cards on eBay with processor of your choice. Once a buyer selects to buy an item they need to contact you to process the payment.

I guess I could have an agent running that will auto respond with a link to my self hosted payment form. A pain which I probably won't bother with but looks like it's possible.

If I end up experimenting with it then I will be sure to let you guys know.

Checked on stripe irc channel on freenode, looks like you can integrate only authorize.net and a couple of other big ones.

Stripe is available here in Canada as well. I use it myself, the only drawback is that it can take up to 7 days to get the money in your account. In the States I think now it's next day deposit or max 2 days. They're working on getting our Canadian deposits in the 2 days time frame, that's the only thing I don't like about it.
