Anybody using No Hands SEO?

And now my last question for today:

Can we stop the new "I look for new keywords myself" feature? I know it makes sense that i checks for new keywords to always have enough pages to post on, but I have setup a profile about sustainability, bio, and eco and it returned pages for the keyword "bioshok 2 trailer" ;-) I guess my client does not want to have a backlink from that site ;-)

Hi

Couple of questions

I just did a check with Scrapebox Links check.
I entered 2,449 urls (Comment Posted) and Scrapebox only found 2 links.
This seems incredibly low ! Commenting with Scrapebox would usually give me 2% to 5%

Also If I want to run the software repeatedly on the same web site with different key words, the whois sites are going to be spammed with my links repeatedly. Is this correct ?

I have the same concerns. I could not find a lot of approved links so far but I think we have to give it time. The links you directly find after a run are only the auto approved links and there are not that many out there.

But I am also concerned about the whois problem. Any ideas?

I'd think, and Jim tell me if I'm wrong, but since you're using a backend db3 database, you're recording whether a url receives a successful submission to a location..is that right? If so, an url won't be submitted twice to the same whois site?

right click the profile
i don't know what to do with this tho, heh.

Thanks for the help Lanx, I am going to look into lowering the working memory usage as it seems a bit higher than I have seen but by the time its gets too big for you I hope to have something in place to lower this.

Yep, the export feature is already there. From what I've done with scrapebox, I'm expecting roughly a 1-2% approval rate for comments.
My only question: is there a limit to how many threads I should be running on my home computer?

I would imagine 50 wouldn't be an issue for most computers but it really depends on how long it is running for and how big the database gets. Soon I will have a pages / profile handler where you can lower the size of the database and hopefully running memory usage as well.

I would say approval rate is generally anywhere from 0.5% to 5% depending on the niche/keywords you are targetting and the sample size.

Hi Jim - I still needed the words in the bad word blacklist in addition to the blacklisted domains since some german users also have comnetororg domains as well, which would not have been blocked with the blocked domain alone ;-)

I know but I have had to work on getting the new search API working, I am working on these new features now so it shouldn't be too long.

A feature to import/export profiles would be nice as well, since everytime you reinstall the software you need to setup your profiles again. If we could simply export them before making a clean installation we could import them after installation is completed.

And how does the "Add multiple links to Single Profile" option under the "Add profiles" tab do exactly? Does it work like this. It uses the keywords that you enter to search for trackbacks and comments. Then it takes one of the spinned anchor texts and posts a comment or trackback with one of the domains or URLs added in the "Full address list"?
So basically this option cycles through different URL/Anchor text combinations?
But where is the difference between a normal profile setup as "Website" and this option?
Can you try to explain? And maybe you can give an explanation when one is preferred over the other.

Thank you very much and just for all new buyers here.
Jim is an awesome support guy. He answered every single question with patience and as you can see in this thread I asked quite a lot, because I really want to understand every option or feature of the software.
His support is absolutely great and with our help and a little patience from our side, I am sure he will improve this peace of software further more.
So from me a big thanks to Jim.

Profiles will never be wiped out if you use the update and the installer should not overwrite the database either. If you are updating by overwriting the whole portable version it will wipeout your database but this is not advisable unless you backup the database. I try to keep database updates to a minimum and will always try to get the application to update the database where possible so you don't lose your profile details.

Adding multiple pages to a single profile is pretty much how you explain it. Each page is entered into a single profile so that when the tool does its work on them it will search the keywords you entered to find blog pages, post to them and use the same spinnable text for anchors but pull a random page from the list of pages.

This is different to a website in that the profile will not be submitted to whois websites and nor will the pages be crawled, it will only submit the links in the list where a website profile can extend itself when it finds pages on the same website.

If you have a lot of article links (or other link lists) on the same topic you will want to add them as a single profile so you don't have multiple pages targetting the same search keywords and also to save memory and be more efficient. If you want to create whois links to a homepage (whois links only accept domains and therefore do not accept deep pages) and also gain links to your whole website rather than just a single page you will enter it as a website.

Does anyone have experienced the same behaviour. I stopped it to change some settings and then I restarted it. Now I have it run for almost half an hour and it is just Searching for blog pages and trackbacks. It gets hundreds of founds and everything but it only posts to whois sites. I hasn't sent a trackback or comment in half an hour.

And even when it says "Found 468 pages" it does not add them to the potential list of blogs or at least the number in the profile view does not change.

What is going on?

It seems it is in a loop "Searching" -> "Found" -> "Searching" -> "Found" ->"Added keyword xyz" -> "Searching" -> "Found" -> "Searching" -> "Found" ->"Added keyword xyz" but nothing happens.
It does no longer post a comment or trackback.

If you close the app and open it again does this persist? Did you change any settings before this? Are the Blog Comment and Trackback Posting options in the settings Active? There should be a tick in the box of each of these options. I am not experiencing this problem on my test machines so if you could give some more of an idea of your settings and use so I can try to figure out why this is happening to you.

I'll look into getting an option put in for this. Thanks for the suggestion.

The approval rate does seem very low, have you been using proxies at all? I find public proxies to be unreliable and no proxy to get you accepted less. Ideally you would be using private proxies but realistically I would be expecting a higher success rate than that.

I would advise to, instead of running multiple website profiles with different keywords, add the different keywords you want into one profile with the different keywords (comma separated) and using spinning text for the anchor text. This will find blogs from all the different keywords to target and will generate links with varying anchor text also it will only create the whois links once.

Do not worry about posting multiple times to the different whois websites, you will only get one link total from each website per domain you feed it. As stated above though there is no need to have a single website added as more than one profile, this will just use more system resources and lead to commenting / trackbacking multiple times to the same website which is never a good thing for increasing your approval rate.

I have the same concerns. I could not find a lot of approved links so far but I think we have to give it time. The links you directly find after a run are only the auto approved links and there are not that many out there.

There is no whois problem. The way it works you will not be hammering the website no matter how many times you want to add the same profile. Adding a profile over and over is not necessary due to being able to use multiple keywords and anchor texts and is definitely not the desired use of the tool.

It is quite easy to get a higher success rate by using keywords that aren't necessarily relevant to the blog you are promoting, for instance do not expect many blogs targeting a computer related niche to be akismet free, where a blog about some obscure medieval art form is more likely to be spam filter free or better yet auto-approve. The other option is to use Auto-Approve lists. These can be bought for little money and there are even lots to find for free if you do a google search.

But you probably have different tables for each profile and if it checks against the profile and not the URL it is sent over and over again to the whois sites. I am not sure, but this could also be the case.

Again a website only needs to be entered once. If you want to enter a different profile for a different page just add it as a page and it won't be submitted to the whois sites as they do not accept pages just domain.

I cannot really think of a single scenario where you would need to enter a single website numerous times to the tool, unless you can think of one?

I tried to restart the software and first of all noticed that the blacklisted domains (not words) taht I entered, so .de/ .at/ and .ch/ were missing. SI I entered them and hit save. Then I closed the software and restarted it again - and the blacklisted domains field was empty again.
Can you double check that on your end. It seems it is not saving this field to the database correctly.

Then I tried to start the threads again and it went straight back into the loop "Searching Blog Pages" and "Searching Trackbacks" -> "Found XXX Pages" and "Found XXX Trackbacks " - > Then a post to a whois and it starts again.

I sent you a copy of my log file via email.

Everything was fine until noon, then I just stopped the processes, because I noticed that I had a spelling mistake in the keywords. So I stopped NHSEO and edit the profile, saved and restarted the threads and since then I get nothing but whois and found pages and trackbacks but no post comment or post trackback.

Hi Jim

After completion of a run.
I have kept the same four web sites and have used the edit function to change the keywords and anchor text. How do I reset all the data back to zero ?

Sam you know I am looking into this for you and will get back to you as soon as I figure out what the issue is.

You can download an empty database from the download area. Overwriting the old one will wipe your old database.

I am waiting for any REAL proved review. Because the software looks so good.

Hi Jim

My site has about 25 pages.
Why is the software finding 604 ?

Thanks for sending the website. I can see from a cursory glance you do indeed have hundreds of pages. For instance you have different currency options on your product pages, meaning each product is about 6 pages itself, each category is its own page, you have a blog on there with well in excess of a hundred pages. Also your blog has a tag cloud which will add lots of pages to your site.

In the next update I will have a page editor whereby you can remove pages from the submission list and rescan and other bits.

ok so i read up on how to check comments with scrapebox (yea i didn't know how)
so like i've said i've run this thing almost 24/7 (more like 23/7) for 4 days it's taking up
622megs of memory and the database file is nearing 280megs, and it uses between 20-30% of my cpu (i just look at current cpu useage, run program and subtract the average after a few mins), i have 16 profiles.
with 10private proxies.
that doesn't really affect me, i have a quad-core and 8gigs, so i see no performance difference, if you're running a netbook, i can see where you'd be suffering

so this one profile, the first one i did has 5355 comment entries, running it through scrapebox shows 1145/5355it took a long time with 30requests should i add more? i was using 10private proxies.
math will show that to be 21%

however, when i look at the links of those 21% only like 1/10 will actually have my link on there, so like am i doing something wrong?

I think 21% sounds very high for not using AA lists. Also I am not overly familiar with the SB link checker so cannot really comment on that. It is possible it is finiding a reference to your website instead of a link or maybe the link is in the code but not easily visible by visitors. I would say you are not doing anything wrong.

P.S Thanks for the positive iTrader, it means a lot to start getting some positive iTrader.

so which linker you think i should use then?

This is working better than I expected.
I assumed incorrectly when the software had searched for the blogs to comment on and the Comments Progress column indicated for example 156/3456.
I assummed incorrectly that once the software had attempted to post to 3456 blogs and the Blog progress column showed 3456/3456 that the software would stop running.
But no. After completion the software searches for more blogs and continues posting. This is also the same for the trackbacks.
Excellent.
You really can set it and forget it.

I personally use my own link checker but I know lots of people swear by the scrapebox one. Is it possible that the pages that have been checked and supposedly have a link do actually have a link that you were not able to see as a visitor?

If you view the source and use CTRL+F to search for your domain, not the address but just the domain without all the http://, does it find your domain anywhere?

This is working better than I expected.

Exactly, I realise that the salespage isn't quite as comprehensive as it could be in abolutely spelling out every feature but Im kind of hoping once Ive released a feature update or two that people will start to see that I have not released this to make a quick buck and run.

I really want to make No Hands SEO one of those tools that people use daily for their SEO needs.

No money back guarantee or trial period? Sketchy.

I have explained that I would rather update the program for those that have bought the app to make sure it is all working as they expected it to when they purchased it rather than spend time making a trial. Also Im sure plimus handle refunds and disputes just like paypal and I would never deny a refund from any users.

I would be crazy to deny a refund for anyone as that would just be bad for business in the long run. I have spent too much time and effort getting this program out there and updated to ruin it all by trying to keep an unhappy customer's money. Thankfully though not a single person has felt the need to request a refund.
