I have mine set up as a page too but that page is the HomePage...LOL

Is there a way we can get the Whois submission going with the homepages only?

I have an interesting observation. Ever since I got this tool, i probably have only rested it for 8 hours or so.

On the second day, I added another profile. This profiles uses the EXACT same keywords but has 4 Urls to post to. Besides that, everything is the same.

As of now, the second profile actually has more confirmed links than the first one. The first profile had a headstart of around 1000 posts before the second one came in.

The only explanation i can think of is that the second profile has basically not built any backlinks in its lifetime. Probably not banned as much as the first profile. Makes any sense?

If you wanted to promote your website via whois but not crawl your website just set the limit of pages to crawl to 1 and it shouldnt add any pages past the homepage.

The whois submissions are only ever done to the homepage, that is how they work. Whois websites do not accept pages just domains. It could be down to level of bans, it could also be down to the blogs themselves, possibly they block comments based on the anchor text or something similar.

I have just uploaded v1.3.6 to the members area and updater and it is advised everyone update to this version.

Changes to the latest version are below:
* Fixed: Link Checker not initialising correctly on new installs

How do I set the limit of pages to crawl to 1?
 
If you click the advanced option when adding or editing a profile you should get a window pop up with some extra options, one of them being page scrape limit for the profile. Set that to 1 and it won't crawl any pages.

Does anyone have any data on the usage of proxies vs no proxies? Right now I'm averaging a 1-2% confirmed rate without proxies. Wondering if it would be worth it to buy some proxies.

Yeah I think it is because the payment hasn't cleared yet. I haven't received a payment for a reference at that number so I cannot really help until it clears and I get the payment notification. As soon as it clears it appears in my plimus account and I can see your details, we will just have to wait till it clears. You should receive your login details automatically as soon as it comes through.

I created a profile and add a list of comment targets to the profile; but now I decided to stop using the targets for the profile.

Is there anyway of removing the targets and setting the profile to be backlinked through the default method of the tool?

I looked around but could find no way of setting back the profile back to the default mode i.e. searching for blogs and commenting on them instead of using a target list. I think one way of doing this is by deleting the profile and setting up another one but I just dont want to lose the data that I got for this profile. Or maybe I can do this by editing the database.

I hope Jim will suggest a better way of dealing with this!

Yeah sorry about that, it won't go over your old posts but in the next feature update I will have a re-checker which can go back over previous posts and check the links withjust a click or two of the mouse.

Proxies are great for hiding your true identity as well as helping to get past some spam filters. It is not a guarantee but some people have told me they were getting upto 5% with proxies and one chap in this post mentioned he managed 20% success rate but I don't know how he quite managed that high figure.

Checking this option will take you to the advanced profile option when adding / editing a profile.

Currently there isn't a way to do this, I will try to add something into the next feature update that I hope to be released this week. You could do it via the DB. SQLiteStudio is a great little SQLite DB manager.

I do not support the use of a DB manager tool to edit the database directly and cannot be held responsible for any undesired side effects because of this, however if you know what you are doing feel free to give it a try.

In 3 days, here's the backlinks that have been created.

I'm running 24/7 with no proxies.

I had PR and outbound link limits for a while, but decided I'd rather have more volume late yesterday :)

I notice you are still using v.1.3.5, you should restart the program maybe every day or 2 as there are updates. The latest is 1.3.6.0
 
I am new to this proxy thing, what if I just use my own IP address?, do I need to use private proxies? etc
 
Actually, I bought it today. I'm figuring out how to work it to the max. So far I like how easy it is.
 
I'm not using proxies and I found a confirmed link rate of less than 1% during the first 6 hours but after that I'm operating at 2-4% confirmed links now. It seems to get better and better the longer I run it as I'm at 36 hours now, brilliant software.
