Anybody still using stackoverflow ?

I've been using stackoverflow since 2010, literally 2 years after it launched it was so big
but when gpt 3.5 came out, i haven't opened my account since than and every answer i needed was in chatgpt, i think it's 100% useless now, even chatgpt stopped using it for its info & data

In my case 95% with chatgpt, some times still neew SO to find some clue though

This graph is actually very innacurate. StackOverflow only lost 5% less traffic compared to 2022.

Also, StackOverflow is the source for a lot of LLM's like ChatGPTs knowledge. Without it ChatGPT would be way dumber, and if it really dies so ChatGPT won't get much better than it already is (actually Apple researchers already found out that we are already reaching the current potential limit on the current way LLM's are made, with the transformers architecture).

That said, StackOverflow really needs to improve, they can't mark every newbie question with "duplicate" or any variation of "you are f dumb" and expect the site to prosperate. They really should fix that ASAP

AI is just AI. It is true that its usage rate has decreased compared to before, but its vitality will not be lost.

LLMs are great for simple stuff, and im yet to do not simple, so it's perfect.

I am still using it in my work. I trust it more than chatgpt, since chatgpt can provide completely false answers (has happened to me before). I use a combination of stackoverflow and github copilot (I have a paid sub for that) which auto completes directly inside my vs code editor. Since copilot is more context aware (it reads the whole codebase) and provides more accurate generation.

That said, chatgpt should alone be fine if you don't code professionally, and it is only for an one off project or something.
