I was thinking, couldn't I just program an entire interface, applications, products, the whole deal. Bet I could make it look better than most of them out there. Then what else? Just approach advertisers on other network, try and get good commission rates and win over some marketers, surely getting the products on their first will make enough profit to pay for initial marketer checks. Anything else...? Support people? Surely running it by yourself with fake e-mails then getting a team as soon as it takes off?

I've thought long and hard about creating my own CPA network multiple times. I just don't know where to start when it comes to getting advertisers on board. I'll check out that HasOffers URL. Thanks.

If you don't have money to blow (i'm not talking about 5-10G's in the bank) or any connections, It is going to be very difficult to start your own network. Even If you did start the network, you would need to have some kind of relationships built with advertisers because they are not going to randomly allow a new network to promote their products without some kind of establishment. Here is a post from another thread:

Affiliate networks are starting to get saturated to be quite fair, because of the accessibility that to the industry that HasOffers provides, it seems a new network is popping up every couple of days, a few thinking they can ball around throwing CPM ads all over the place.

As a result, very few offers have their own USP's, and really can't deliver selling points on more than payout times. You have your big players like NeverBlue, Azoogle (Epic Direct), which are directly financed by hundred million dollar parent companies, a couple of other good ones - and then your average network no one has ever heard of, let alone wants to do business with. Only so many can offer "the best payouts in the industry" before it starts to have absolutely no meaning. I'm not saying that it's an impossible industry to enter, but what I am saying is that based on your financing and current knowledge, I definitely wouldn't attempt to set-up an affiliate network, at least not at this stage.

Affiliate networks live of affiliates, which requires traction to get affiliates on board. To get traction now with such a vast of no-name affiliate networks out there, and more coming out everyday, you need a game changer which offers something of mega-value to affiliates which other networks simply don't.

EDIT: As for how they operate, your job is to find advertisers who want to work on a cost per action (CPA) model. You help them find a profitable CPA model for them, charge them on a per action basis (lead/sale/call/click/etc), knock a % off the top, and then pay the rest to the affiliate.

Generic networks are getting saturated yeah. I'd recommend you target a specific niche and get the advertisers in that niche, or perhaps target a local market?

to be perfectly honest ive tried quite a few things and i've learned the following: building something is the easiest part of the job. Making it to work for you is give or take impossible. Assuming you will get a lot of traffic you could straight on jump to a vps or dedicated server solution. And even if you do know how to code and manage a server that is the last thing that should be on your mind. What you really need to have is a clear idea and the right approach. Best of luck from me!

Not quite saturated but there is just too many of them. It's going to be a bit hard to get advertisers.

Let's try to be optimistic. Target an area you have knowledge in, put in the required efforts, show that you can and you will succeed.

Lots of people are doing aimlessly for this matter, and I was one of them before. Quite lot of money but yeah, minimum in return..
