I've got working laptop - Compaq LTE Elite 4/50CX.

It was my first computer. Cost me about a grand in 1998.
75 Ghz, 8 MB memory, 2 GB hard drive, Windows 95.

2x 128k Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2's (one of which is in almost mint condition, complete with carrying case! Works perfectly!!), 1x 48k Sinclair ZX Spectrum+

I agree for the most part that old computers are basically useless, but good quality vintage computers are going to be worth big big bucks to wealthy geek collectors in the coming years.

In fact anything collectible that appeals to geeks is a good market to get into, because in the future it's going to be the geeks who have all the money.

how could you possibly think like that, when i shuffle through old things in my house and come across my bbc electron all my child hood memorys come flooding back, its like keeping photo's of good memories

I'm not sure what old computers are worth, I know that the Toshiba T1200 is always up for sale on eBay and ranges up to a few hundred dollars for one in working condition. I have an old IBM Thinkpad as well with Win 95 that I'm hanging on to as well.

Anyone remember Wordstar (micropro)
Man I thought I was a real professional with wordstar LOL!

I gave $1800 for a 200MB SCSI hardrive and thought I would never need a larger one LOL!
Dam thing was as big as a cinder block and weighed about as much LOL!

Gave unGodly amounts for few megs of memory - WOW!

ha! the oldest "comp" i have is an old 16-bit game system. but i probably had more fun typing in code from "Compute Magazine" and hanging out on locally run bulletin boards (Citadels) than i do today surfing the web.

The oldest computer i had was a Nintendo 8-bit system... Gaming was fun back then... Even Skyrim or Uncharted arent that much fun than what Mario was, back then.

Lately I've been using FS-UAE to play some old Amiga games. Unlike other times I've tried to play Amiga games, this emulator actually works out of the box and it's drop dead easy.
