I have old Toshiba Satellite T1200 running right now and boy does it bring back memories, not all of them good! 640K memory, 20 Meg hard drive running the classics like WordPerfect and Lotus along with Dbase!

Yes it does, I remember thinking about buying a Timex-Sinclair back in the day and then I realized I really couldn't much with it.

I even remember the old TRS-DOS machines from Radio Shack. If I recall correctly the first personal computer I tired to work with actually ran CP/M.

I've still got an Amiga 600 sitting in a box somewhere. Have to get rid of it though, selling everything I own. A pity because it's a piece of computing history, but can probably only sell it for a few dollars...

I just recalled that my first PC was this classic Epson XT that I paid over $1500 for! Craptacular!

Nope. Had a Pentium3 long time ago - my first PC. Have a friend who has about 8x 8086 PCs and 3x Z80.

About noise... if you never started a 4x CPU 1U server at 3AM with fan control off (16 small fans at 100% fan speed) you don't know what noise is

I still have my first computer that I got for christmas in 1997. It's a HP pavilion 3100, and it still works like the day it came out of the box. Came with sim city 2000 installed on it, played the shit out of that game. Ended up putting 64 megs ram in it and installed xp in 2004.

I've never understood the point of people hoarding old and crappy <anything> in their basements/attics. Especially old computers: ugly, clunky and good for nothing. Sure 80486 played big part in me getting into computers (yeah, I'm that young), but I see no reason to keep it when upgrading.

It was something like this. It was an Intel 486, (nevermind the compaq pic) and I was just a kid. I remember one time when I went to my cousin to get some games on a floppy disk. He put on that disquette like 30 games, I was so happy, ran to my home to play them, and when I arrived home and copied them, that's the moment when I found out what a shortcut means =)) He copied me the shortcut games from his desktop lol =D So obv it didn't worked. Damn nostalgia, I wish I had an internet connection and know few things about IM back then. I'd be writing this message now from a beach in Bahamas lol.
