Anybody notice this? Adsense

Adsense is displaying videos now. I was looking at some sites and seen one, I thought it was just a video as part of the site, but it was imbedded as adsense. I wonder if as publishers they have to watch the vid, then click through or we get paid on play\impression. Is this old news?
