Hey I'm from the US and I'm seriously thinking about moving to Canada in the suburbs of London Ontario. I have a family with small kids. Anybody from there or near there? Any advice?
I'm from Newmarket. 2-3 hours away from London. No advice other than: get your ass here now. It's amazing. Free Healthcare is just one of the many benefits of living in Canada.
I went to college in Canada and live near the border here in Maine. I'm trying to convince my husband to move up there. As long as you don't mind the cold it is lovely and peaceful. Take a few trips up to see what you think. I've looked into the immigration process and it is pretty tedious so be prepared for that.
In Canada you don't have the stress of political downfall/fuckup, although our government isn't the best, we just ignore it and let them do as they wish as long as they don't destroy our lives.
Im from Ottawa. If you are planning on immigrating I would recommend to look into SuperVisa Insurance. It's a program that was started in Ontario in Dec. 2011 to aid the merger of health insurance from the other systems onto ours. This facilitates immigration to ontario and speeds up the process of getting a permanent visa... As well as getting onto our public health system. PM me if you require more information.
