Any work for an 11 year old?

Captcha solving? Ffs, I just spent 5 minutes doing that the other day because I wanted to test a new software and I was starting to get crazy, let alone one hour straight.

I would say that writing would be the best for him, but 300 words is way to much for a 11 year old. Let him write short articles on various keywords, this will teach him how to make good research and will actually help him out on school.

It all depends on how skilled he is with computer..

I mean, learn him the basic first, like wordpress, html, banners, that type of stuff.

Get him to learn the ins and outs of Wordpress. Then let him study how to do great landing pages. Will come handy later

Tell him to program a bot using iMacros, not that hard for a child + not that boring.

Hmm, that's a great response. Thanks for sharing your input. I'm not his parent, but I definitely want him to do whatever he seeks to do (within limits) and frankly, he wants to do something productive using his laptop. It's great for me and especially for him.
I may give him his own .COM and I'll host it for him. But I'll need to find some money first to buy a domain.

He's already involved himself in articles for my information blog. I pasted them into the website as posts and I hand edited it to make it quality and readable. I pay him per article and he loves it. It's a great system, but I also want him to expand his computer skills not just writing so he doesn't get bored.

300 words isn't too much for him. I've seen him once hand me a 600-word article about some of his favorite games (I put this on my blog + edited) and I paid him and he was happy. So he kept writing about things he liked.
CAPTCHAS probably won't be a big deal for him, but I'd like him to expand more skills.
BTW, anyone know of CAPTCHA solving sites where my brother can get paid to solve CAPTCHAs?

I was going to do the idea at the top, giving him his own domain and hosting it for him so he can experiment what kind of website he wants.
I want to help him learn how to make landing pages so I can benefit from it and then pay him.
Also, landing pages are for CPA offers right?

Give him a simple task he can master. I think keyword research is a great task for him to do. Tell him the requirements of each keyword, and let him loose to find them! Hell I do keyword research for fun

For example registration to some web2 property and posting an article there automatically. With iMacros you can make that process educational. For example you can start from a very simple script, then add CSV file (which makes the whole process a little more complicated), etc, etc. At the end of the day you will benefit from the script and your brother from introduction to automation tools.

You could even have him pay for his own domain. That is a good first lesson in "it takes money to make money." Tell him to take a week or two to decide what he wants his website to be about and what he wants for a domain name. In those two weeks, a new coupon will probably be posted in the domain section of bhw and his domain won't cost more than two or so dollars. Change the dns to your host which doesn't cost anything, and he's good to go. You can get a web utility program at demonoid or have him use a free one. You can get photoshop at demonoid and he can make nice graphics such as banners and logos too. This will all keep him very busy, and imagine the joy and satisfaction he will feel when he sees his website live on the internet. He will get a sense of accomplishment.

So true, I remember years ago when I was younger and everyone had a personal geocities site, I was stoked to fool around with it lol. Show him how to set up a Wordpress or Blogger (easier than Wordpress imo), let him fool around with it. Maybe show him some keyword research basics and let him optimize it.

social media posting? make a active account for one of your sites on fb / twitter etc and get him to do likes / posts / whatever. kids are all over fb anyway these days.

My 14 yo son loves doing keyword research for me and he is pretty good at that. We split the income to keep him motivated, but he will have to save up to pay renewal on the domains I registered for him.

I'd much prefer him doing that than playing modern warfare...

Hmm, I'm not very experienced in this field of work.. Could you perhaps tell me more about it so I can teach him? PM or something..
I used to always have my MNS designers grab my keywords, and never really messed around keywords (which is a horrible thing because these days, keywords count for a lot of things).

Nah, I'd rather not give him a harder time. I'm already taking up a bit of his time. lol
I think I'll just give him one of the blank domains I already own (.COM) and let him play around with it on Wordpress. I can show him how to install themes, plugins, and mess around with the style of the website. I'll pay him for everything he learns (because education is important in producing useful stuff) and then pay him for whatever he can produce with the website.
Later on, I'll teach him about keywords and stuff (if I can learn more about it because as I said, I haven't really messed around with keywords).

Could you teach me a few keyword basics? Do I just let him on Google research and find some keywords? I don't really understand keyword research, although I know a bit about keywords themselves and how they affect SEO.

What time period are you looking at here? He can probably begin once he learns the basics of Wordpress and I can teach him a lot.
I'd build your website for you if you want (just hit me a PM) but otherwise, I can teach him some Wordpress and themes and let him do it then I'll pay him whatever you pay me.

Hmm, as I've said also (same thing here), I haven't really gone far into keyword research as I probably should.. I don't know a lot about the actual research so I'm a bit wavy on the idea of teaching him research. So I'll need a bit of information or two or keyword researching.
Other than that, this is a great idea and I can probably make something out of this.

For keyword research you can use google keyword tool. You can also get a 90 day Market Samurai trial on bhw if you search it. Look up high traffic exact matches on the google keyword tool, choose the best ones, and scope out your competition for each keyword. An easy way to do this would be installing the seoquake addin for Firefox, it'll show each sites on pr, inbound links, on page optimization, Alexa rank etc.

Sounds more like he wants to bond with his older brother. Do something but make it a positive experience. Don't miss out on this opportunity.

Alright, I got the lowdown of the keyword research.
Now another question: How can I monetize this? I know people sell keywords and all that but I'm too busy to run my own business for keyword-selling. Thanks!

No doubt, I won't allow him to work without making it positive/fun! There's no way I'm going to do child labor on my own brother, or anyone in that case.

I started my first business at 11 (and created my first site when I was even younger than that).

I made very little money (maybe only $10/mo) but I learned a lot and it helped me get to where I am now.

If your brother is really motivated I'd have him take a look at forums and maybe help him create his own niche blog (have him write about something he is interested in).

But the most important thing is do not babysit him. In order to become successful he has to learn to be independent. If you babysit him now he will learn to ask you whenever he is unsure of something, when instead he should be learning how to problem solve for himself.

I played MMORPG games when i was younger and i can tell you that i wouldnt change it. I have beatiful memories now. I think that he only want to be with older brother more . Believe me i know this i have younger brother too and he wants to be almost same like me.
