Any ways to optimize the author box?

Would love to know your thoughts and wisdom on this.

I understand that Google will prize trustworthiness more going forward. I also understand that this means good authors will be given more credit.

How does one take advantage of this?

Does the humble author box need to be optimized, and how?

add social links to your author profiles. give them trustworthy descriptions.
 
Focus on E-A-T, which are key factors in Google's content quality assessment. As significant as being trustworthy can be, it's equally important to focus on creating valuable, well-written content that resonates with your target audience.
 
Add a professional headshot for your author photo and social links to your author profile. And by providing a high-quality content and relevant information, you can engage with readers.
 
Use a author box plugin or build a custom one using page builder like elementor. Include no follow social media links, website link(of real author). Do off pages seo. Create profile pages of you author on various profile sites. Do postings on medium, LinkedIn with that author. Answer quora posts and reddit comments. Use a unique name for the author.

That's great info. I appreciate it.

I just use the standard author box from Wordpress. Not sure it allows adding links, but will look into that.

Any advice on the radio of website posts to Quora/Medium/sm posts? In other words, is it best to recycle most of them for Medium for example?

And any thoughts on Muckrack and things like is?

The thing is that I post tens of articles weekly and not sure to what I should give special attention.

when you are building EAT for author you just need to post on medium, quora, reddit regardless of your site. And you dont even have to link back to site just keep the same author name and author image.

I haven't posted on muckrack.

what about try an existing author name who is already ranked in google ? whats the impact ? i need to know. Please explain . by the way , i am newbie.

Do you mean to pretend to be someone else? :))
Some folks do that on Spotify. They add "featuring Bono" or whatever. But Spotify usually figures it out and they get banned.
 
For one site post like once or twice a week. It took me few months for a site fake author. For some sites I use my own name so I don't have to do anything. And some site i don't have author, if it's a studio or agency.

Well, most of the author personas are fake so you can 'optimize' them by mentioning highest educational degrees and awards to them in the author box. You can easily decorate this with a free Wordpress plugin as others have mentioned above.

In one of my health and wellness related site I created a fake female author and awarded her Masters Degree on Food and Nutrition. Created and added social media profile links in her author box. She looks just real now.

But that's the max one can do. Your readers may get impressed with such fake persona's and trust your content.

One more thing to build trust is add the reference links from trusted .gov sites in the article. It will indicate that you have taken reference from the well reputed site so your content is genuine. Do not forget to add a no-follow attribute to the link.

Never do this. If the person is real then you may receive a notice.
 
You can use author box plugin, also add your social media accounts & professional headshot to you author profile. You may interact with readers can offer them relevant information with high quality material.

Ah, wow. Thanks. I had little idea about some of those things.

I'm just curious. Is adding those degrees meant to impress readers, or will it also register on Google's radar? :))

of course to impress readers. No body (including Google) is bothered to check the authenticity of the degree. Moreover the realistic looking social media profiles that I created back the claim that this person exists. Those who do not believe, do not believe, but many people believe for sure.

But wouldn't you be adding more to your reputation by simply adding your own name to each new post? Sorry if that's a dumb question.

No, it is not a dumb question. In fact it is a very valid question.

I don't want to put my name as a writer and get fame. ;) I am an online marketer, not a writer. :)
