Any way to leave monetization review?

When you are monetized, you have the option to "leave partner program", which will demonetize your channel.

But when you are in review, there's no such option and I have found no way to stop the process once it's started. Is there any way to do this?

I even tried closing the adsense account that's linked with the channel. It looked like it worked, but as soon as I linked a different adsense, it continued the review from the same point where it stopped.

Probably the only way is to contact Youtube directly.
