Any video editor that can ...?

I want to make some music videos for youtube with a simple .jpg/.png as background but I have like 200 audio files all with different lengths. What i need is a video editor that will automatically cut or extend the background photo to match the length of the audio file.
Please share if anyone knows of a tool that can do this ?

No automatic editor that does this (extends the photo based off audio length) but Camtasia works best if you want to do this.

u can do it with windows movie maker u have an option there u can put a pic and have the music playin on the background as long as u want u make the music fit the photos

You can do it with swf file as a picture-video and external streaming audio as mp3 file. Where you will need to adjust only length of play of swf file in parameters as in contributing audio.

Use Windows Movie maker, it's very easy to use and you can pretty much make and compile everything within 10 minutes.

camtasia will do best..cut audio,picture background and transition of picture just fine..

its simple. just load the song and the image in the project/composition. render. done. you dont need a script for that.

Just gonna throw this out there, take it as you will. Suggesting AAE to a noob for legit simple videos is like suggesting a grandma use a Lamborghini to go to the grocery store...

Regardless, I see no harm in learning AE. It'll help you become great in video editing alot.

Hey Thanks for suggesting, actually I've already tried MVG and IMO it's useless for videos longer than 54 seconds. You can only select up to 9 slides with up to 6 seconds per slide that means that if the audio file is say 3 minutes, you will only have a background image(slideshow) for the first 54 seconds (9x6) and the rest of the video (2min6sec) will be with a blank background.

Another issue it has is that (after I installed all the codecs that it says are necessary) the final output file is very big, i.e. for a 54 sec video the smallest file size I could get is 309MB. For a 6.11 min video the size is 2.06GB.

Guys thank for your interest in my thread but you would be much more helpful for me if you could just throw in some guidance points. I have AE installed and I have edited some AE templates before so I'm not a complete stranger to this tool.

You can add 1 slide with 9 pictures in it,and you can continue adding more slides with 9 pics in them,you are not limited to 54 seconds.My 40-50 sec videos are about 2 MB's,without transitions and background clips.Im using:Video Compressor: XviD MPEG-4 CodecAudio Compressor: AC-3 ACM CodecCheers

I recommend cyberlink powerdirector. It literally takes two seconds to do what you're asking. It has two seperate sections one for audio and one for visual and all you have to do is click and drag the picture so it stretches out until the end of the song.

Well maybe I didn't play with it enough to get it to work like you say, anyway I still can't use it for this job because it generates videos based on the keywords that you add to the list while I need it to take the file name of the .mp3 file and put it as the name of the video file.
[I think I just gave an idea for a good software for the coders out there.
