I have an older PC that I have replaced with a newer desktop and a laptop. Its stats are 1.5 GHz and 1 GB Ram, with windows XP installed.

Can anyone think of a reason to keep it? Or should I just scrap it?

I actually have a few other computers laying around too. This is the oldest, so it's the first to go if I can't think of a use for it.

you can keep it just for history, or for your soul like first love, or, you can run on it some little software.. I also have a old laptot and 2 pc with dualcore CPU, but i'm waiting to replace it with a new AMD Phenom II X6 1100T CPU, 8gb memory and ssd, that will be my workstation. i think my old pc will sell for pennyes or will keep it for emergency.

yep.. selling it makes no sense. maybe you could donate it??

I'd keep it around. I know I have several desktop applications that are somewhat memory intensive, and I have a separate computer I use for the purpose of running it. I'd recommend the same.

Either donate it or use it as a dedicate PC for running SB etc (if your home connection can handle it).

Do you sell the Runescape characters or the virtual money? Curious how the game is profitable.

I don't see a use for these... I mean if you want to runs something separate from other stuff, just install a virtual machine...
I have a nice p4 desktop with 1gb of ram sitting too, wish I could use it to make few bucks a day, but can't think of anything.

You have to think outside the box, no pun intended. I have 15 computers in my home office. ALL are doing something...

Albiet YouTube views, FaceBook, SenukeX, xRumer, whatever... there are definitely ways to use a computer like that.

Example.... go to u2bviews.com, sign up, then run the browser 24/7. Before you know it you will have 1,000's of credits. Create a video, upload it... apply the views. Purchase YouTube views from people on here of fiverr. Do a bit of work to attract even more viewers from FaceBook, Twitter, whatever... Get enough views and you might get profit sharing enabled. Or upload a CPA video, drive traffic to the video, then drive traffic to your CPA site.

Another: Run a Scrape program to find niche phone numbers or Email Addresses. Get a few thousand, then design a product/service that you can sell them.

etc... etc... etc...

There are SOOOOO many ways to use old computers, like I said, you just have to think outside the box. The people who tend to think outside the box, or think ahead... tend to be the ones who are successful. Knee-jerk reaction people, or people who don't know what to do.. are the ones who tend to be left behind. Make your future...

Why yes I do. I just find a good working script and do various things. Sometimes I sell characters and sometimes I sell money. There are many reputable websites that buy and sell gold/ accounts. For accounts I usually go to craigslist though... Some websites have marketplaces which are just as good. tl;dr sell gold to websites... characters to individuals

Thanks that clears up a lot.

I did a quick Google search and found some results but I'm curious which botting program works for you. If you don't want to post it here, could you PM me?

Also, I've never played Runescape before. How hard is it to get this going on autopilot?

Powerbot. I'm pretty sure the website is down right now. All you have to do is sign up for an account on the forums, download the bot, download a script that seems legit and start botting. You need to experiment and find a script that works well for you.

Either donate it or wait for 10 more years when it'll be considered vintage and therefore sell for more than what you bought it.

If you were an engineer/software dev/security specialist I suppose you could use it to stress test new applications. Better yet, set it up as a seed box for torrents.

some ideas,

hook it up to your tv and use it as a media center to store your movies

run synergy on it to link your computers together for a 3-4 monitor workstation

give it its own independent internet connection, lots of uses

make it into a web server & host your sites on it for free
