It depends on what you're looking for?
Backlink database? No, there is not. You can see backlinks get indexed in their database even within a day. I believe most of the operating costs go on servers which will hardly be beaten by any of their competitors.
Keyword Research? Still no, as they're able to pick-up a lot of seed-keywords. However, their KD (keyword difficulty is way off) so when I do kw research I always combine it with a few tools and manual Google searches just to feel what's the competition is like. Allintitle: "keyword" operator comes in very handy in this situation.
So yeah, I don't see any tool more valid than Ahrefs these days. Even big Agencies left SEMRush for Ahrefs lately which confirms it's efficiency.
However, their pricing is very high for newbies or in-house marketers, so Group Buys (not using keyword research as you'll reveal your niche) or trials are the best options.
