Any tips to monetize a music entertainer's website?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to monetize a website for an artist? Getting customers to pay for music downloads is obviously pretty slim pickings for local artists looking to go larger independently.

I would think the music would need to be free, or by donation at the most. Could maybe charge for ring tones. Any other ideas?

how are you promoting?

try and ensure people know that the artist is avilable for hire etc.

try and get aload of gigs at local clubs etc. and get noticed.

gigs = fun nights + easy moey.

even if its only $50 for the gig, usually riders are included (snacks, drinks etc.) so it's usually a good way to spend a night anyway.

Oh, and everyone loves the people who are performing

We have access to radio, tv spots, street teams, etc... Just trying to figure out the best way to monetize from the website when all those promotions are used. Thanks.
