I launched my hosting reseller recently on a subdomain of my site. I haven't done much with it yet, SEO and promotion wise. It's currently just sitting there. Getting about 2-4 visits a day. What would be the best:

1. Keywords to target (that convert)
2. Ways to SEO for those keywords
3. Ways to bring referral traffic
4. And arguably the most important, how to get traffic that converts.

Up to now I have never sold my "own" product. I have earned with adsense and some affiliate programs. So how do I get traffic the will buy my hosting?

Maybe instead of using SEO and the like, you can do some offline promotion for your hosting. Do a small campaign that explains to regular folks how they can have their own site with you and it'll only cost them $X per month or you can give them a discount and make it $XX for a year. That's a considerable amount of annual residual income if you play your cards right.

Maybe even throw in a free, 1 page site, anything else they might want is extra. Just thinking out loud here.

I can help you get senukex discounted if you think it will help you...PM me for that. But first and foremost is the fact that hosting is so saturated that it is hard as hell to do. If you are a website designed you can offer a free website if someone buys hosting from you and us RVsitebuilder. The thing is, you will really only make money when you start going to your local businesses to ask if they are interested.

Advertizing is the best way i think for reseller hosting.

I would say FB PPC possibly. Or advertise on forums with the "internet idiots" lol.
Or, you could always advertise with CPA networks as an advertiser.

How does CPA advertising work?
Where would you suggest I do it?
How much as a $ value should I pay per person who buys hosting?

CPA Advertising you can go different routes. CPA, CPM, CPC
CPA (Cost Per Action) - you only pay when someone does something for you. Meaning in your case, you would pay the CPA Company let's say $5 every time someone would come through the CPA company and someone purchases hosting. For example, let's say Aff_a promotes your web hosting company and they bring you a lead for shared hosting, and you have it set to pay the CPA Company $5 per lead. The cpa company would get $5 per lead, then pay the affiliate what they seem fit per lead.

CPM - you pay per 1,000 Impressions on your ad, you create a banner(or multiple banners) and every 1,000 impressions you have to pay $x, usually you pay in advance for this.

CPC - you pay per CLICK to your site through the CPA site. Meaning if you where to chose CPC, you can pay anywhere from $0.001 per click to $100,000+ per click Lol. usually the higher the payment is per click the more it will get promoted, but it will cost you more as well and your not exactly guaranteed to make money with any of it(except for CPA)

I would go with the highest prices pan and pay about 1 1/2 months worth.
Ex: One of your plans is $10 / month, I would pay the CPA Company $15. The cpa company would then be able to pay the affiliate's more and in the end generate you more sales and they are more likely to pay more than 1 month either in advance or just in general. Also, it would help spread your companies name and still in the end generate you more sales in the long run.

At that the person would have to be on the monthly hosting for almost 2 years for me to make a profit! Check my commission table!

Oh, the top level host is $2 per month. I don't think someone would promote hosting for $2 / month. The prices are VERY cheap which usually means like a fly-by-night. Also, if they have shitty specs for the packages you won't get any sales really. You have to give them at least half-decent specs.
