I need to put up some videos that are copyrighted, any tips of how to keep these videos up for a long time ?

Well I doubt there's a surefire way but it helps to actually state on the description that the video is not yours and you own no rights to it blah blah and I guess light up 3 candles and pray it's not taken down any time soon. :p

I dont think that will work lol but I'm not looking for a sure fired way that they will stay up, maybe ways that extend the up time, I heard putting tags on the videos after a few days helps... Is this true and how many days should I wait ?

Well the description part does help, I've done it myself. As for the tags, I don't know if they help but mostly all my videos have tags and none have been taken down so maybe..

so you put something like *** No copyright intended *** ?

There was a thread on here showing step by step how to dispute the copyright by using the Fair Use. Worked for 3 of my videos.

Here's what I do..

1) After downloading the video, I make some changes to the audio such as changing pitch, tempo, speed etc.
2) I also change the length of the video by adding a slide at the beginning and the end of the video. Usually it is Download this song's ringtone at ... and so on. I would also change the brightness and add effects to video itself.
3) I will also change the file type from mp4 to say wmv. I check for the file properties and remove all traces of song name, artist etc.
4) While uploading, I upload the video with random title, without any description and tags and upload it as private video.
5) Then I let the video sit there for 2-3 days and I view it 25 times (max permissible views for a private video).
6) After 2-3 days I add title, description, tags etc. I also add the words "no copyright claimed or intended" and then make it public.

So far none of my videos has been deleted.

Hope that helps,

Nice, and what if i am making the own videos from an mp3 song should i change tempo speed and stuff like that ?

Good tips.

Have you noticed how y0utube cuts off the video description..and viewers have to click on (more info)? I was wondering..

Where is this cut off point? in number of words, I guess.

Also noticed that most don't have their links above this point. I guess its part of ytube TOS?

Brought this up because one could be missing some potential number of clicks such as "grandma" viewers who won't be able to find the link.
