Any tips for targeting US followers?

Hi there!
I´m looking for any tips on targeting US followers without using automation. I´m currently only using location tags, eg NYC boroughs in both posts and stories. Is there any other way to actually target an US audience without using automation software?
Edit: It´s a personal account in the quotes niche with about 10k followers, currently posting curated viral quotes content. The goal is "just" to grow the US followers count for now, no plans to monetize it at the moment.

Go to Instagram pages for things in your niche that only exist in the US and do the same as if you would with automation, also if you have a lot of time on your hand, you could check the profiles one by one but man this will take a shit load of time, basically if you want to succeed it's either automation or money.
 
The easiest way is to find any local business account and follow its followers.
E.g. local NYC coffee shop in Brooklyn, not Starbucks.

Easiest but not the best. This will mean you are relying on someone els's audience to engage with yours. I would suggest creating IG Ads and promoting it that way. Do a giveaway and make a requirement they must follow you.

Not the best method either - op can end up losing money on Instagram ads and not getting many followers.
To advertise or do a giveaway you need to have some kind of product and we have no idea what type of account op has and what is the final goal.

Sorry, should have mentioned the niche. It´s a personal account in the quotes niche. Currently focussing on viral quotes content, as I´m no celeb and people don´t care about my personal life :D
 
1. Pick a theme and stay consistent.
2. Keep your posting schedule consistent.
3. Use well thought out hashtags.
4. Use Instagram’s geotag feature.
5. Post at optimal times for your audience.
6. Make your content pleasing and shareable.
7. Watermark all original content.
8. Tag larger relevant accounts in your photos.

Automation kind of freaks me out. I would have instadub, but I´m honestly worried that this account might get banned.
