Any tips for mass DMs on Reddit?

Hi all,

Has anyone got any tips they can share for mass DMs on Reddit? It’s not actually very spammy stuff, I just have some software in a free beta that I want to get people interested in. I’m not actually trying to sell anything to them.

I can send hyper personalised DMs but my queries would be around the following…

What are the DM limits?

How sensitive is Reddit to IPs/proxies?

Should I buy accounts or prewarm myself?

What steps can I take to avoid my domain getting black listed? Will a JS redirect be enough?

What are their spam detection systems like in general? Are they using any sort of browser automation detection? Phone verification? Captchas?

Any input at all welcome from anyone

The basic rules are classic for all social networks
1. Clean proxies
2. Randomization of actions / messages / strikes
3. Warming up the account for a long period of time

Reddit is super sensitive to proxies, the better the proxy the more spam you can do and for longer.

Buying accounts is a nice way to skip some aging or karma farming, but you should always warm up accounts regardless of age/karma.

If you put your link anywhere you risk it getting banned, no amount of redirects will help that. You can avoid getting your domain banned by trying not to post your domain with like 50 different accounts and keep 1 domain per 1-2 accounts max.

They are using a lot of hidden checks. You have to have good knowledge in programing and fingerprinting in order to avoid their systems. But in general they will not care about small amount of spam and you could probably get away with a lot of risky automation. But if you intend to do it on larger scale soon enough you will start raising suspicion and getting all your accounts linked and banned.
The key here is to blend in crowd as much as possible no fancy extensions/special browsers (if you don't know what you are doing with them) that will only make you stand out in the eyes of reddit anti spam and get all your accounts banned.

You will need multiple accounts if you want any noticeable effect. Fresh accounts with no karma can send 3 dms before getting rate limited, you will need several hundred of them to get traffic.

Thanks, 4G sounds like the way to go. Do you know what browser checks they do exactly? And do the popular multi session/profile browsers get around these?

This is based on my own personal experience.

They check if your user agent stand out e.g using special custom made browsers which are poorly designed, device type, browser version, browser type, canvas, if date and time on machine match the IP region, keyboard language and so on.

They are checking basically everything, if you really want to get into fingerprinting there are a lot of websites to help you see if you have unique user agent.

I am not using any special browsers or multi session browsers as those tend to cause more harm then good in my experience, except if you know exactly what you are doing.

It's not a good idea, but if you're gonna do it, the more accounts you use, the better. I'd seriously avoid sending more than a dozen messages with each account if i planned to keep them. And even that is pushing. Reddit ain't playing games no longer.

Is that DMs per/day? or the total you can send from that account?
