Any Themeforest/Envato authors here in BHW?How much are you banking per month?
I am passionate about design, looking forward to learning how to develop wordpress themes and become a themeforest author myself.

Some of them make awesome bank. I uploaded a couple programs on Code Canyon. The commission they take is awful. I've made a few hundred bucks but that isn't much when it's been a couple of years. lol

I could see if you spent some time and uploaded a few themes that you could make money. It seems that the hard part is support. They also have high standards.

I love Themeforest. It's my goto place for themes. I just wish there were more HTML templates because I don't like WordPress. I know that you could take a WP theme too but I like just an HTML cut page+css classes to plug into my tools.

I am not an author myself but I have some friends that have over 500k in sales , in 2-3 years I guess , which is impressive for that period of time
if you can develop themes or scripts give it a try

I know some guys who are working there for a quite long time.

And they make 1000$/month both from 11 themes and 2 plugins with 6/10 quality of themes.

S, it is possible, but if you know how to make great theme it's always better to have your website with affiliate program, and Themeforest account to sell there.

Thanks for the info guys..well i know the basics of web design..how to work on photoshop, html, dreamweaver, bootstrap, wordpress etc..But i see that wordpress themes sell like hot cakes even though the commision is aweful.I was wondering whether i should invest time in learning how to develop wordpress themes so that i could sell them there.

PS: I have also sold some Photoshop actions on graphicriver before

You can always sell your themes and plugins and attach them inside posts in BST sites like smaller webmaster or discount forums if you hand out coupons.

themes from themeforest have developed to a point wherin it has become a team work or an experts job..its not quick money. you can try a email template which themeforest sells if you are good at graphics, html, css and javascript

^ This is true. The WP section is flooded but there are several other areas there where you can do well. I was looking for a simple landing page the other day and couldn't find anything I like.

One area I think that's lacking there is simple blog designs. So many ecommerce or services related themes, but not much for someone like me who has been toying with the idea to create a standard personal blog. Blogspot designs are severely lacking.

Maybe any authors can cut a deal with BHW and give us their scripts and themes :D

That is some question I asked myself. When browsing themeforest you can see some authors having an icon saying they sold over $1million..

Another thing I forgot to mention is that the reviewer sets the price which is kinda annoying. I understand where they are coming from, but I'm used to setting my own price. For me, I wanted to sell my Code Canyon plugin at $8 and the reviewer set it to 5. With their ridiculous 50% commission, that's $2.50 per sale. So, you can't even upcharge for the commission piece.

In the long run, though. I spent a day on each of my plugins and I think I banked about $200 (I forget exactly how much). So, not horrible. It's also kinda nice because you can spend your income on themes, so I just consider it my savings account for Themeforest themes. lol

I’m not an author, but I know a few people who crossed $200k in sales in just a couple of years on Envato. Its fully depends on skill.
