Hello

I'm struggling to rank website at least at spot #3 to take some traffic and make money.. Currently i'm ranking at spot #7 for 1.600 monthly searches, but i don't take so much traffic from it.. What i should to to move website to spot #3 at least ?

Thank you

  1. Clicks. Buy fake clicks or change your Title / Meta Description to A/B test what has the best CTR.
  2. Pagespeed. Check the speed of websites ranking above yours. Most probably they have faster sites.
  3. Backlinks. *evergreen*
  4. Images Details. (If you have any images on the page, fill in all details, keyword stuffed!)

If it is google that said you 1600 monthly search, it means probably something like 1000 search a month.
So if you are 3rd you will probably get something like 1 to 10 visitors per day

Maybe it would be better to find longtails keywords which could you get more visitors.

To reply to your questions, it is simple: get more quality backlinks and more content.

How long is a piece of string ?

Depends on competition etc

New content and Backlinking would definitely help in such situations. Keep attracting traffic with fresh content and also do strengthen your social signals :) and yes Keyword competiton!

Is your site already https only? If not, then get https and 301 all the http to https and tell google webmaster tools to crawl it from the root. You should gain some positions overall.

The competition is not so big... Also they don't have optimized website for speed. Regarding to KWfinder difficulty is: 24

What is your current SEO strategies?
Are you building backlinks from your related niche site?
Are you adding content to your site frequently?
What is your plan of using social media?

Focus on your on page optimization then get quality backlinks. Adding PBN will also help you in this or do guest posting on sites that is related to your niche. Get social signals to increase your traffic.

i would have know for position 8 but form 7 ..... that hard :)
built some good links

For this type of situation (of course depending on the competition), I would go with onpage optimization + min 2-3k words of quality content + 3-5 PBN links from your private network and you are good to go. :) + time, give it few months

Two things and a half.

THING ONE: Relevant, Unique, and High Quality Content
- Proper Meta Tag
- Alt Tags
- Title Tags
- One h1 header several h2 headers and at least 300 words of relative content

THING TWO: Links
Notice I only said links, not just back links. Even though back links will boost you up the ladder quickest, Internal Links are also extremely important. Many webmasters over look the importance of internal linking structures as a minor detail.

Contrary to this popular belief, internal links are not minor details to simply be ignored.

One of the easiest ways is to use one's own webpages, that just happen to have higher domain authority, and point them at the post you are trying to rank higher for. Whenever I have a webpage I really want to rank higher for I will actually link to the post from every single one of my upper level pages.

For me these pages consist of
- Home Page
- Contact page
- About Page
- All Locations
- Store
- Blog Root
- and Even My Privacy Policy (surprisingly it has 34 page authority because it's been around since the beginning, who would've thought)

After doing this I will also try to add some local citations I may have missed as well as go put the url on blogger and google plus.

If you do it right you can add a good 10-15 "links" and smaller backlinks to your page. Individually, none of these links hold much power. Yet, when combined, it seems to pack quite a quality boost to your local rankings.

I genuinely hope this helped out a bit, and I wish you and your google rankings the best of luck!

I have a lot of respect for you and you have posted a lot of useful info so no offence intended, but do you really think this is the best advice for the OP at this stage?
He's already ranking #7, the keyword is not majorly competitive and doesn't have tons of search volume.

Whilst I agree https is a good idea for many people and at some point we're likely to all be forced onto it as standard, there is little evidence at the moment to suggest that this has anything but a minor impact on rankings. I doubt it will be the difference between #7 and #1 for OP. Plus, if people don't know precisely how to move seamlessly from http to https the chance of epically balls-ing up your site is considerable...

No offense taken....but adding https can make a difference if he's already top 10...that's why I asked.
