Yeah but informations are more looking for is how to chose the right target, more efficient categories and key words, etc for a specific country.

I have taught classes on how to properly target audiences in several large FB ads groups. HMU if you want to learn.

Nice sending you a private message !

I don't want your money but if you want to target people in your niche to your posts i say it's either to exchange shoutouts with people on instagram that are on the same niche as u and that method is free ( basically u just dm a page that got something like 10k 20k followers and tell em u want to exchange shoutout. Basically they will post your ig and u will get their followers and in exchange u post their ig ) or u can go the paid way and buy a shoutout from a page that have similar niche to you but u have to look at their posts and check engagement rate etc to see if they have bot followers or real ones. Good luck :)

Really depends on your goal.. more followers? sales on your site? etc

Sorry for late reply

Thanks, It's true there is a lot of page photogaphy, but I always thought most of them were just chosing them through their hashtag.
I will send private message to some of them asking if they are offering this type of service !

Please, please, please do not pay for ads unless you have the resources to carry on for months.

As soon as you start paying for ads, the algorithm will change and you will see a sudden swift in reach, engagement.

Advertising should be a tool and/or method reaching your goals based on the strategy you had created.

Never dying rookie mistake is wanting more followers. I'd rather have 10k targeted and engaged followers than 10m of zombies. My favorite argument supporting my statement is this: https://www.insider.com/instagrammer-arii-2-million-followers-cannot-sell-36-t-shirts-2019-5

Plan, plan, do. That's all I'm sayin'.

This is very true in my experience. With Facebook Ads, it's much more feasible as a long term plan, I'd say, to use them for scaling a proven funnel, rather than freshly going from "0 to 1".

Even with shoutouts on IG, you may find it's difficult to get followers. Aka, you might spend $25 on a shoutout and get 7 followers.

Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but with Facebook/Instagram the name of the game appears to be engagement. If you can get conversations going within the comments, people tagging each other, users stating their opinions, you can hit the Explore page. If you can hit the Explore page once a week (and you know when you hit the Explore page bc your reach is 10x higher than every other post), then you'll gain followers.

How you do that is another question. With engagement in mind, that could be asking people questions in the captions for them to answer, posting as shareable content consistently as possible (and iterating on what works), running weekly contests (such as $5 Shutterstock gift cards).

I think weekly contests could be good. You can tell people to like/share your post and tag 2 friends to be entered. 5 weeks of giveaways (of $5 gift cards each week) would be the same price as 1 shoutout or a couple days of Facebook ads, and you could get more engagement, since you could promote the giveaways all week (unlimited entries, etc).

Hey thank you for your feedback.
But I though that through advertising, I could get those engaging followers.
I want to be able to live by selling my fine art prints, and create a community around what I am creating.

But despite the child/mother method (which is really pricey) I do not really see how to grow my account and find engagement.

So this is why I wanted to start advertising, not to have ghost followers.

But if you are telling me that advertising mostly attract ghost followers, or that it will then kill my reach and engagement, I would have to think about another strategy, which as you know, is kinda difficult.

I have 10K followers, but I am not using ANY technique to bring new followers, and I lose like 600 followers since 5 months, while gaining no that many, through classics thing like hashtags.
But I am planing lauching my website en project and would want this hard work to pay.

My pleasure.

To be able to monetize said followers, you will definitely need your own platform (website, webshop, etc.) but at least something else than IG (like Shopify, Etsy, etc.).

I did not say that advertising will directly result in ghost followers. I meant to convey the fact you should be able to earn good money (4 digits per month) with that amount of followers presuming they are targeted and engaged.

You keep talking about the number of your followers, again, that is not a primary contributing factor when monetizing art. How well are they engaged - this is a way better question.

You should also launch any website as a tool of monetization ASAP so that you can see how much your audience worth right now. Hope this helps.

Thank you both, since you are kind of saying the same things, I am just replying to both of you at once.
Really grateful for the tips, I understand better now.
Plus my engagement is low, only 3/4 % generally 5-6% on some post so I would need indeed to make the community more awake.
So I was thinking fist engaged more with my followers (through like and DM, not following them).
Then when my website is ready keep engaging with my followers but also proposing a giveaway of some of my prints every two weeks ?
What do you think if on my first giveaway and announcement of the website I advertise this post (but also the next ones which include giveaway) ? While in the same time buying a service I found here who propose european followers (like 500 followers) that engage, like and comment my post to kind of boost those posts especially if advertise. Just at first and then little by little removing them while the account growing ?

The reason I am still thinking about ads after, is to attract ONE COUNTRY followers, I want to market only my country, and then Europe first, since my work include fine art photography but also writing, my goal is make a book, and well, I will feel more comfortable writing it in my native langage. So I want more engaging post yes, but for the selling part, need to be more specific.

Your opinions is really appreciated.

For your specific niche I would use the ad option for engagement and redirect to your instagram page. Offer some sort of free give away of your art, that tends to be pretty successful
