    Hey guys

    so my brother has this small cake shop and is looking for a software or something that can track his daily revenues and sales from particular cakes, pastries etc.

    I am sure there must be tons of softwares already for this thing but I was kind of surprised that I didn't knew any lol other than excel.

    Anyone know of such software or anything?

    Thank a lot :)

    Integrated into his till system as to track revenue? What sort of till does he use?

    As far as linking the till to excel to track revenue, I don't think its possible.

    However he can setup a spreadsheet which he can populate with his EOD, maybe weekly/monthly depending on the scale of the business.

    So takings and payouts can be pre calculated into totals, this report can then be meaningful were the end user can extract something from it

    Nono,

    There is nothing integrated in to his system, he just wants everything organized and wants to track.

    He will add the sales and all into the software at the end of the everyday..

    Thanks for your reply!

    what's wrong with Excel? it's pretty good for this purpose, if he wants to add everything manually
    i guess he'd keep track of the sales on paper (maybe he gives out handwritten receipts) and every day after he closed shop, he'd add everything into Excel

    if he'd use some kind of machine to give receipts to the buyers which is connected to the net for instance, that'd be a whole different story

    Haha I'm using money lover for my android and it's great to track costs and profits. They also have a cloud web based version that he can use probably. Check that out. You can create categories (he can use that for a particular cake) and track it like that. You can also see nice stats and category view so he can see what is making him most money. He can also add costs so, that's good. Check it out.

    All you need for most basic accounting/finance spreadsheets is sum formulas. nothing fancy.

    =sum(insert cells here)

    If you need a hand setup some sheets put a basic one together with the data you use and send it over to me and will set the sheet up for you

    basically, there are 4-5 types of pastries he sells so,

    Pastries:
    pastry 1 => x no of sales = $x revenue
    pastry 2 => x no of sales = $x revenue
    pastry 3 => x no of sales = $x revenue
    pastry 4 => x no of sales = $x revenue
    TOTAL = x no of sales = $x revenue from pastries sold

    Cakes

    1/2 KG:
    cake 1 => x no of sales = $x revenue
    cake 2 => x no of sales = $x revenue
    cake 3 => x no of sales = $x revenue
    TOTAL ...

    1 KG:
    cake 1 => x no of sales = $x revenue
    cake 2 => x no of sales = $x revenue
    cake 3 => x no of sales = $x revenue
    TOTAL...

    Grand Total from pastries and cakes = $x

    This is what he wants, so thats why I thought there should be a proper software for all this...

    Also popping this into a Google Sheet attached to a Drive account will allow him to edit on the fly via the Google Drive app. Formulas and all. Same "=SUM(X53:X93)" concept as Excel.

    Throw some VLOOKUP's in there and you'll have a very powerful setup.
